The property is based in the capital city, Windhoek which was founded on one of the host's birthday, 18 October but in 1890 when Von Francois laid the foundation stone of the fort, which is known as the Alte Feste (Old Fortress). The name Windhoek is derived from Afrikaans language meaning "windy corner“. Though the property is in town - it takes 5-10 minutes drive from CBD depending on route and you take and 15-20 mins walk from CBD. It has a little farmy feeling to it as we try to grow fruit, vegetables, etc in our vast backyard. And while still a work in progress, there is lots of space to walk around and a shade to sit out at as you plan your day. **It is important to note however, that the property is only fit to accommodate children 7 years and above and not below. If a guest does not alert the host and comes with a child below that age, the child will be charged same as the 7 year old. Please read and adhere to the rules and conditions for the property before booking.**
Though hosting on this site for the first time, we have always loved hosting guests not only from Namibia but internationally. We respect guests and we pray the guests reciprocate. We wish to provide the best we can but we are open to direct criticism so as to ensure the place becomes the best it can be. ***Strictly, English speaking and no translation provided. Windhoek West is a laid back suburb in the Khomas region, located to the West of the capital. It offers a lot of quiet atmosphere in what was previously an upmarket area but has since been overtaken by other suburbs. On the street that the property is on, many houses look the same as we have been made to understand that they previously belonged to the TransNamib Railways. The property is surrounded by lovely neighbours from diverse backgrounds. But like every country one goes to, it is important to be cognisant of your surroundings, your personal security and your personal property as you walk around especially late in the evening, something that is not encouraged.
