Stylish and modern, this peaceful private and secluded North facing studio cottage, is totally separate from the main house, and has French doors opening onto a private garden, with views over the city to the sea and surrounding hills. This accommodation stands alone from the main house, and is only 5 minutes from the central city by car or a 20 minute walk, with the added bonus of a bus at the gate. Just the place to stay if you want to relax and unwind. The queen bed is comfortable and sumptuous. A very generous continental breakfast is included, and the kitchenette comes with a microwave, fridge and other small appliances. Just outside the French doors is a barbecue and spa pool area set aside for guests. Right in Nelson city but away from the hustle and bustle with a wonderful outlook over the Grampians. In the evening a glass of wine and a relaxing spa can be enjoyed while watching the twinkling lights of Nelson. Pretty and private.
I enjoy meeting people and have been hosting guests including overseas students and visitors for many years. I have traveled overseas with my sister to several countries including Bali, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the UK and India. Last year we had a fantastic trip to Italy and France. I spent 10 months living and working in Dubai where my sister lives which was a wonderful opportunity for me. I enjoy music, reading, gardening and keeping in touch with my friends and family all around the world. I have two lovely daughters and several grandchildren and am very close to my family and my wee dog Betty Boo. My motto in life is to be myself and to be happy. I am a fairly positive outgoing person and try these days to live more in the moment, which is easier after living through the Christchurch earthquakes. I moved to Nelson over 6 years ago, to be nearer my family and to enjoy the lovely Nelson weather. I have made some lovely friends through the Newbies group, and enjoy meeting up together, going to concerts in the parks over the Nelson summer. I love my garden and my favorite time of the day is the early morning, sitting on my veranda in the sun enjoying breakfast.
The cottage is 5 minutes from the centre of Nelson by car or a 20 minute walk. Also just beside the railway reserve walkway which is a fabulous walking and cycling track. A 5min walk to local shops including a chemist, small supermarket, hair dresser and two very popular fish and chip shops. There are parks close by as well as supermarkets and department stores at the end of the road. There is a bus that goes past and goes into town. Also 5 minutes by car to local restaurants, the library, museum and gardens as well as the cinema and beautiful beaches. Lovely walkways along our river and even a walk up to the centre of NZ which is well worth the wonderful view over the city and surroundings. An easy car trip to the Able Tasman National park, wine tours and our lovely Nelson Lakes.
