Cashmere Hills boutique B&B is a new 1920s style villa built to replace the former building on the site which we fell in love with and bought in 2003. We kept the features we loved, like the stained glass main entrance, art deco lampshades, high ceilings, and most guests are surprised it is not from that era when craftsmen built houses. Our garden is covered with many native and exotic trees and plants. You can enjoy bellbirds singing and watching fantails flitting among the trees. If you would like to soak in a bath under the stars, there is a private outdoor cedar tub which is filled for guests with fresh hot water on request.
Phil is from Christchurch, and has travelled many countries. Fukiko was an English teacher in Japan. We both are interested in many things, so we can offer advice drawn from our experiences, such as surfing, tennis, lake fishing, hiking, travelling, gardening and snowboarding/skiing. Fukiko used to be a café chef and barista in NZ and focuses on preparing a healthy and delicious breakfast from our organic fruits and local products.
Our location gives you the best both worlds, easy access to the city, in the heart of a quiet, safe neighborhood and on the edge of popular walking and cycling trails which extend along the hills. You can walk to the sign of the Takahe which provides one of the better panoramic views of Christchurch, the Canterbury Plains and the Southern Alps.
