Great little boutique hotel in the heart of the city, the location is perfect, close to shops, restaurants and the waterfront. The hotel is situated in a complex of very nice eateries, coffee and retail shops and when you check in you get a booklet of discounts for all these shops. Parking is first in first served basis at the hotel which is secure or you can buy undercover parking for $30. You can hire E bikes but they also have push bikes available at no cost.
The rooms are larger than standard hotel rooms and are well designed with seperate WC and hidden closet and furnished in Moroccan style, very comfortable and unpretentious.
Boasting Tasman Sea views, free WiFi in all room types, plus a restaurant and bar, Millennium Hotel New Plymouth, Waterfront is located on the waterfront in New Plymouth’s city center.

I was very surprised given the price. The room was very nice, the restaurant was great and so was the location. If I’m in the area again I’ll definitely be staying here.

We loved the location of the Millimium being waterfront and so handy to great cafes shops boutique breweries amd galleries which all we tried were found to be exceptional. Plus we loved the direct access to the board walk to the port past an impressive swimming pool complex then later walked along the pathway in the other direction the Fitzroy beach which had a cafe and outdoor setting on the beach. The whole city seemed safe and attractive and a great place to visit and probably a great place to live.

Good sized room and ensuite.
Good sized room and ensuite. All absolutely spotless and very comfortable. Useful facilities.
Nicely positioned off the main road so nice and quiet but close enough to walk to shops and restaurants. Not too far to coast with beaches and coastal path. Friendly and helpful owner with a good knowledge of area and enthusiasm when recommending things to see and do.

At first wasn’t too sure about New Plymouth but the more we walked around the city the more we liked it. It’s a very tidy city with lots of amazing murals painted on buildings, tidy and clean with every shop you could think off. It is handy to the foreshore and a beautiful walkway and within a few hundred metres from beautiful Pukekura Park on other side of township, a must visit.

Modern, spacious common areas with quirky art works. We had a great apartment which had been recently renovated & it was by far the best room we’ve had in our 2 week travels of NZN. The staff were welcoming & friendly, especially the lovely guy on reception. Good laundry facilities too. The restaurant was excellent for both dinner & breakfast. Didn’t have high expectations about New Plymouth but was pleasantly surprised, it’s a beautiful city & well worth a stopover on the west coast.
I loved being welcomed at the front desk by not only the staff but the Hotel Manager, very friendly upon entering and checking out.
After a lengthy drive from Palmy and a hot day out at the zoo, it was amazing to walk into the room with the cool aircon going. I said to the manager we would come stay again. This trip was a last minute decision, the next one will be more organized and will be a longer stay. I look forward to it
The room and facilities is and always has been very well presented and maintained with friendly and very helpful staff. I have used this Hotel on all my visits to New Plymouth for these reasons. Location is a short relaxing walk to the CBD therefore making it a good location.
We loved this place so much that we would come back to New Plymouth just to stay here. Beautifully and tastefully designed and presented, it is just what we could happily live in when we're old. The beds were super comfy, the bathroom gorgeous and the kitchen was a bonus.
We can highly recommend this hotel, the comfort, luxury and beauty of the decor all makes for a fantastic experience. We really enjoyed the court yard eating establishments connected to the hotel and the close proximity to the beach walkway and other attractions.
