Irongate Retreat is a private family home with a guest wing open to guests. Irongate is set amongst local Orchards, on the edge of Hastings Hawkes Bay. Accessible by a long tree lined driveway, our house is surrounded by gardens, a citrus orchard and Olive grove. Gardens are maintained regularly by a visiting Landscape gardener and the owner. Visitors wanting a peaceful relaxing visit, will enjoy the rural surrounding Irongate has to offer. We do ahve young couples choosing to stay The guest wing: Has two rooms Room one has two King beds and Room two has a Queen bed. We offer shared facilities. Private entries are available to guests to come and go independently. The guest wing can be closed off for privacy purposes. Cleaning services to each room receives a deep clean after guests depart. Extra blankets,linen and pillows are available on request. There is a heater in each room for the cooler months. Tea and Coffee, bottled water,are provided in the guest wing, free of charge. A fridge is provided for small food items Please note, when choosing your accommodation. Irongate is located on the rural fringe of Hastings, a good 8 minutes drive to the centre of town.

David and I have lived in Auckland for twenty five years and five years ago moved to the Hawkes Bay, for a more relaxing lifestyle. David has had a career in engineering, and Lynare has had a career in Nursing. We have two daughters, both of whom have left home. We enjoy relaxing, having our daughters to visit, music, gardening, travelling and meeting new people. David and I have both enjoyed travelling extensively, enjoying various Hotel and Motel experiences.

Our neighborhood is very quiet. And consists of mostly Orchards, Wineries and Lifestyle properties. Location: Irongate is situated on the Winery Triangle, which is home to popular wineries, Olive Groves and Equestrian Centers. Local cycle ways can be easily accessed for cyclists, from Irongate Lane to the end of the Winery triangle. Irongate is situated within a 10-15 minute drive to Havelock North and Te Mata Peak, a 45 minute drive to Waipawa and Waipukurau and a 25 minute drive to Napier our Art Deco City. The local wineries are open daily until 5pm and tours are available. Local cycle trails are located along most main roads along the Triangle, Cycle hire is available at a local wineries, just ask host for information. There is also a local golf course, and Aerodrome. Food and Beverage: For guests traveling through HB, there are lots of restaurants, and cafes to choose from.The hosts are happy to recommend dining needs.
