Gorgeous place to stay. Filipe met us with the keys late at night after our flight as delayed, and showed us round the property. Then every morning he or his wife brought us a breakfast in a picnic basket. They left it outside the door and texted us that it was there. I would retrieve it and my wife and I would have breakfast in bed with the delights they brought. It was delicious and also quite romantic! Sintra itself was fascinating. We were only there for a week and realised you'd need to be there longer to do it justice. If you're feeling fit and energetic, the walk up to the castle and the Palacio de Pena is great - but it is a challenge! The Quinta da Regaleira was fascinating - don't miss that.

It is just a 5-minute walk from Sintra Train Station and 500 metres from Sintra Electric Beach Tram stop. The Chapel was refurbished in 2016, and the Garden Villa in 2022. The Chapel offers singular accommodation featuring underfloor heating and air conditioning in the bedroom area. It includes a double room on the mezzanine floor, high vaulted ceilings and a comfortable living/dining area with a flat-screen smart TV. Free WiFi is included. The Garden Villa offers Singular accomodation featuring a private pool for guests exclusive use. The kitchens are modern and include all utensils to prepare meals. A Essência de Sintra, and a number of restaurants, shops and markets can be found within walking distance. Outdoors, a sunny furnished terrace invites guests to relax while gazing at the natural scenery. The Chapel's pointed arches of windows and doors remind of Gothic architecture and combine with the elegant interior décor, while The Villa is set amongst a beautiful garden with fruit trees. Both Sintra National Palace and Quinta da Regaleira are within 1.5 km from A Capela - A Essência de Sintra. Rossio in Lisbon is a 40-minute train ride from this former chapel.
