The common huts stand in a clearing of the jungle near our family village, comprising a dozen huts, at a short walking distance from the main road leading up to the Mount Yasur volcano entrance to one side (10 min walk) and to Lenakel town to the other (1 hour drive). There are also several villages around with little shops for basic stuff (bottled water, snacks...) and nakamals, where you will have the chance to experience a traditional kava ceremony at dusk. All this surrounded by green natural beauty: forests, mountains, creeks, waterfalls, and of course, the volcano!

I'm a family father that lives in an easy way with my brother's families in a traditional Tanna village. We all love explaining our traditions and daily routines to foreign people, as well as receiving feedback about their different cultural backgrounds back home.

Aside from taking part in the family's daily routine (cooking local dishes, collecting and opening coconuts in the bush or playing with the children) we can guide you personally on several activities in the surroundings of our village, such as: - Taking a bath in the thermal hotsprings by the ocean. - Going deep underground into an ancient lava tube. - Learning about our traditions and identity in the local Ancestors Cultural Tour. - Ashboarding the volcanic dunes of the Mount Yasur volcano. - Camping in the uphill isolated village of Waru and enjoying the sunrise with great scenic views of the volcano and the valley. - Trekking the tropical forest through gigantic Banyan Trees down to Port Resolution and Cook's Rock, where we can take a dip and snorkel in the coral reef. - Enjoying the John Frum cult chants held every Friday night, and joining the dance if you feel like doing so! -visit imaio custom dance etc. We can also arrange the following visits around the island: - Driving up to the crater of the Mount Yasur Volcano. - Walking through the roots of the biggest Banyan Tree in the world (the size of a football pitch!), near Lenakel.
