It's a great destination for families, with lots for kids to do. The food available (made by an Italian family) was excellent. The staff were friendly. The person in charge of horse-riding, Elias, was amazing. He took excellent care of us, making sure that the ride would go well and safely. It was my daughter's first horse ride and thanks to Elias, it was a wonderful experience.

Set beside a forest and intersected by a stream, Oakhurst Farm Cottages are located in Hoekwil, Wilderness along the Garden Route. This charming farm setting features a farm dam and forest. Each self-catering cottage is decorated in a country-style and has a well-equipped kitchen and living area furnished in wooden floors. The private bathroom has a shower and basin. Fresh farm eggs and milk can be provided on request, and barbecue facilities are available. A number of restaurants can be found in the village of Wilderness, within 1.9 mi. There are walking and cycling trails within the indigenous forest areas on the farm, and guests can visit the dairy farm during milking times by prior arrangement. Other outdoor activities such as fishing at the dam can be arranged by the staff. A number of restaurants can be found 15 minutes' drive away in the village of Wilderness. Wilderness beach is a 20-minute drive away and the George Airport is 20 mi from the farm.
