Located in Parys, Otters' Haunt Eco Retreat features Solar Powered accommodations with access to a garden and the beautiful Vaal River with access to walks on an exclusive island. Please Note: All our units are fully Solar Powered & off the Eskom Electrical Grid and all the units boast having delicious Borehole Water & Free Wi-Fi. Each night the solar power automatically goes off between 22:00 - 22:30 depending on battery reserves. We request that all guests bring battery powered lights for late nights. The system automatically powers up again around 07:00 or earlier depending on the sun. On over cast days where there is no sun, we can run a generator if needed. We prefer however to try stay away from fossil fuels if possible. So just remember to be as sparing as possible when using the power. A microwave, a toaster and fridge are also available. All cooking is done on Gas and Gas heaters available at a fee for winter months. The country house offers a barbecue & Swimming Pool right on the River. If you would like to discover the area, cycling is possible in the surroundings. We also offer River Rafting & Hiking. Koppies Dam Nature Reserve is 29 mi from Otters' Haunt Eco Retreat, while Otavi Wildlife Sanctuary is 7.5 mi from the property.
