Just 7 minutes' walk from Hobart CBD (Central Business District), Astor Private Hotel offers rooms with antique furniture and access to free WiFi.

Guests staying at Astor Private Hotel can take a 7-minute walk to Salamanca Place where they will find a variety of dining options as well as the iconic Salamanca Market. The MONA Ferry Terminal is a short walk away.

I loved staying at the Astor Hotel, it was like stepping back into a different era and even though Hobart is not that busy, I breathed a big sigh of relief every time I entered the Hotel. It is beautifully furnished with Art Deco glass, interesting books, sculptures and paintings and opulent vases of flowers. Tildi was very welcoming, friendly, and informative and I really enjoyed learning the history of the Hotel. The breakfast was simple but delicious, incredibly reasonable and left in a great room full of character. I would very highly recommend for anyone to stay here. A great place if you're travelling as a woman by yourself too. My room was upgraded to a double, the bed very comfortable and interesting furniture. Excellent location.

The Riverside Motel is like stepping back into a bygone era of motels in Australia. Despite its age, it was clean and so well positioned on the banks of the Derwent River, opposite MONA. The on-site restaurant served an appetizing and delicious dinner, as well as a delightful breakfast.

Modern clean unit, comfortable bed, great shower, inside and outside seating area. Able to buy dinner at the hotel which was in front of the units, there was also a restaurant if you wished to move upstairs for a view. Shops next door for anything you would want. Washing and drying facilities were also available at minimal cost.
