the owner was so very kind and welcoming . We had arrived early and she let us have the room very early and on our day of departure we had a problem with our transport so she allowed us to keep our bags there and then let us come back and wait at the hotel even after 2 pm . exceptional

I enjoyed the location of my private room which was about 20 ft from the pool area. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the tours that were suggested during my stay. For the price you can't beat this hostel, but it's not in the best area. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. I was a little emotional during check out today. It was just what we needed. It’s a clean and charming hotel with friendly and helpful staff, who assisted us in booking a private transfer to La Fortuna at late notice. In terms of location it’s around a 10 minute walk to the centre of San Jose; and we found navigating easy due to the grid system. To note, the walk does involve a fairly steep hill so may not be doable for all travellers.

It was right in the middle of a great neighborhood (Bario Escalante) where we were able to stroll the streets for great options for dinner and breakfast. We stayed upstairs in one of the rooms with bunk beds and a double bed. It was very spacious.

Breakfast at the hotel is fair and it could be better. Dinner at the Hotel is good, they have a good menu with a lot choices. Also, their is a great Argentinian restaurant across the street from the hotel.
