The inn offers delicious freshly prepared dishes, including game from the local shoot, and fish delivered daily from Brixham.

Very accommodating staff; I brought a mountain bike with me. They provided me with somewhere safe to store it so I didn't need to carry it up the stairs every night :)

What a lovely place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The people and the service are amazing, 10+ out of 10. Not only did they help get our luggage up the stairs, they found umbrellas for us to use on our outings and were there at every turn for anything we might need. The bar staff are super friendly and the cook was amazing. Breakfast is the best I've had, and there were several menu items to choose from. We stayed in the small apartment and really enjoyed having a separate area to watch TV and relax. All in all, we loved our stay here. We would like to return again some day and spend more time with these wonderful people. They truly are the best! ❤️

The location is very convenient for Bath - a 20 min walk although it’s not flat it’s lovely. There is a small car park for guests and the pub does great food. The room was gorgeous and very comfy - we had the best night’s sleep ever! It was a real treat to have a bath as well as a shower plus tea and coffee makings in the room.

The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The historical ambience of the hotel was amazing. Our room was spacious and gracious and beautifully decorated. Both dinner and breakfast were very good and, for me, the choice of delicious vegetarian options was unusual and very welcome.

It was very exciting staying in such an historic inn. It felt like we were in a Shakespeare play! We loved the four poster bed, the interesting history, the furnishings and textiles, the bathroom, the rural view and even the sloping floor.

I had already visited the George. I'm a part-time history tutor, and I was working on a course that I called "Inns, Taverns, and Alehouses". It's the earliest example we have of an inn with separate rooms, accessible by a gallery. I took my Dad to show him.

The tavern is probably one of the most beautiful in the country, so old and stylish, a feast for the eyes. The room itself was so rustic and cute. The bed was one of the comfiest ice stayed in. Id love to go back one day. The lovely girls here amazing so friendly, a credit to the hotel.
