We can’t say enough nice things about our stay at Mangawhai Lodge. If we could give a “12,” we would. Jeanette was a terrific hostess, and welcomed us warmly. Every interaction was enjoyable. She made our breakfast to order and was delicious.

It was a one night stopover on my journey north, as there is a diversion due to road closure and this accommodation is handily on route. There was good parking, it was very comfortable, with a shared lounge area combined with full privacy of your own room and bathroom. It is modern, as the name suggests, and very clean. I walked down to the Mangawhai Tavern and had a superb vegan burger.....I can highly recommend. Great value for money.

Opened the door to a candle lighting and immediately felt at home. The sunrise from the balcony was absolutely stunning. Bring your yoga mat! Stay for two nights of you can, and visit the local supermarket before arriving to get food for dinner because you won't want to leave!
