The guest house is also an art gallery, so there are interesting pieces everywhere. There are several restaurants within 1-2 blocks walk. We were there to visit Lake Kussharo and other parts of Akan Mashu National Park, very convenient location. The staff left us park maps and information. There is even a picnic basket and mini-fridge in the room.

It’s not my first time visiting Otaru, but Stone and Iron made me wanna visit Otaru again! I was already very excited when I booked this historical stone house. It is more amazing than what I expected! The owner Hiro is a super nice host and excellent chef. We enjoyed so much having our dinner in his lovely stone house. Food is fantastic! We had a good sleep as it’s so quiet. The stone house looks stunning in the snow!
