I visited 30 years ago, then the locals just dropped rubbish everywhere, this seems to have stopped. Leave plenty of time if you want to walk the Avenue of the Sphinx, some information boards helped you undertand what you were looking at, restoration work is ongoing, walk around the sides first and enter from the back, in a courtyard, you can see where the Romans plastered over the wall art and put there own.

Interesting but quite difficult to understand because of a lack of knowledge of Egyptyan history. Even if you have a guide it is difficult to remember what it is you have seen. There is very little effort in trying to make it an educational experience which you can remember.

Luxor temple is a must visit.

Luxor temple is a must visit. It's the biggest one and is absolutely fascinating. Even though we started quite early in the morning, there were already groups, however we still managed to get some nice photos without the crowds. I'd recommend to visit with a tour guide to understand what are you looking at.

The Egyptian people are charming and kind but be warned they will take advantage of you regarding your money and tend to be aggressive in Luxor. As a solo traveler do not go to Luxor Temple alone at night. In order to walk the avenue you must pay an entrance fee to Luxor and Karnak. I wanted to walk from Luxor Temple to Karnak Temple by the Avenue of the Sphinx but there was an event happening at Luxor Temple and hours where shortened.

The hotel accommodation at In Luxor Nile Apartments was absolutely splendid, spacy, on a unique spot with the Nile under your feet and magnificent Luxor temple view. Also the services were great - the management organised all the trips for us, kept all the promises, the drivers and guides were always at a proper time on an agreed spot, were very friendly and helpful. We can fully recommend Far & Beyond Travel and their facility In Luxor Nile Apartments and its services.

Great experience to stay in an Egyptian hotel overlooking the Nile and Luxor temple from the rooftop restaurant while having the buffet breakfast There's also a street level eatery that leads into the large bazaar. Lots of dining options a short walk away. WiFi was fine. Magic Carpet Travel provided an excellent personalised tour for us.

Everything about the places gives awesome! The staff was exceptionally attentive. Organized a great driver for us to visit all the sights for a very good price and the location was just 2 minutes walking to luxor temple. The hotel partners with a tour company so you literally do not need to book tours before hand you just to show up. The restaurant on the rooftop was fantastic. The service was phenomenal and the food was out of this world. The best food I had in Egypt was at that restaurant!

Location is within 5-10 min to train and bus stations on one side and to the Luxor Temple on the other side. Well-functioning wifi with supportive and polite staff. Hotel has readily info on tours in and around the region at decent prices Affiliated with Nile Youth Hostel on the west bank which I think is even better.

Very reccomendable, good relation quality/price, the breakfast is excelent, there is a nice roof top terrace. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they really make the effort to make you feel as if you were at home. In our case, they helped us to arrange our trip and bookings, and they were in touch with us all the time to follow up that everything was running as expected. The hostel is very well located close to the Luxor temple, shops and restaurants. It is a bit noisy (but this is Egypt!!), I would strongly reccomend it.

We spent excellent time during our stay at the Nile Castle. First of all view from the tarrace, where we were having breakfast was breathtaking. The hotel is located at the river just opposote Luxor temple. Our host and his family were very helpful and smiling. They prepared for us welcome tea, offered assistance with organisation of various trips and gave road traffic advices. The room was very clean. I will certailny recommend this place for my family and friends intending to travel to Egypt.

I loved the view from the room. Watching the sun set over the Nile from the little balcony of the room was one of my favourite things on the trip to Egypt. Staff was very nice and helpful. The location of the hotel is good, it was about a 20-25 minute walk to Luxor temple. Room was a very good size and had everything.
