It is quite large and needs a couple of hours.
It is quite large and needs a couple of hours. Do't spend so much time downstairs that you are too tired to see upstairs, which is very interesting. The museum itself is a bit old and some things have already been taken to the new museum which should be opening in Giza next year. You will be approached by guides who want to show you round. I would say that you don't really need one the first time you go. I would look around first and then, if you want to know more then hire one. Some guides are good but others do not tell you much more than what you can read for yourself. Remember to haggle as they will start high

Try your best to avoid during peak hours when you have tourist coming in you'll be stuck to have a look at the amazing artificial they show on display. Get your self a guide as the information written before the exhibit does little justice for the artifact your looking at. A Good Egyptologist will not only you it's importance but give you alot of back story and guide you which exhibits to taken in and which ones cam he given a miss

If you are interested in History, even a little bit of it, take a guide from the entrance of the museum. Some of the main things will be covered by them and you can roam freely looking at things afterwards

See it whilst you can.
See it whilst you can. One of the world's great museums, we visited four times and once you get to know it, it's wonderful. It's also frustrating, quirky, and old fashioned - but that's part of the charm. Worth digging into properly.

Just visiting the Tuthankhamon treasures is worth a visit to this museum. Absolutely breathtaking. You will also find many treasures, sculptures, canopic vases and furniture that would be stored inside the burial chambers of the pharaohs.

Can it pass any standards of Museum?
Can it pass any standards of Museum? It has most precious collection in the world. What does the staff do if they cannot even provide labels to artifacts ? You feel like crying looking at it not because it is overstuffed but because it shows no one cares about heritage including the the whole ministry of of Antiquities. They have made the case of return of antiquities to country of origin very weak. Will I come again ,NEVER.

The location is great. We can walk to the Egyptian Museum and there are some delicious food round the apartment. We recommend the beef sandwich right next to the building door, it costs 10 pounds for one. The space of this studio is pretty big, and there is a washer in the restroom so we don’t have to pay extra for doing the laundry. The doorman is very friendly and helpful.
Incredible location, view of the pyramids from the room and balcony just as advertised. Friendly staff who helped to arrange transfer to the airport as well as the Egyptian museum, and a tour of the pyramids. Much better value for money to have a room with a pyramids view for the same price as a standard room at a big name hotel.
One of the highlights of my stay was the fantastic tours organized by the hotel. Exploring iconic sites like the Pyramids, Saqqara, and the Egyptian Museum with knowledgeable guides made my trip truly memorable.
The hotel is very beautiful and overlooks the Egyptian Museum and the pyramids from the rooms. Breakfast was on the roof. It was a beautiful view. I would like to thank the employee Ziad Ali for his warm reception. Thank you very much king tout.
Room was reasonably big and clean. Breakfast was tasty with many options. Lunch was also good but more expensive than in restaurants in the city. The pool is small but nice, good area to sit outside. The hotel is located very conveniently next to the Egyptian museum and a palace, and bazar is within walking distance. The bar is open the whole day and offers cocktails and beers.
Overall, the hotel exceeds all expectations. Superb location in central Cairo, within walking distance to the Egyptian Museum and metro station. Lots of dining possibilities in the vicinity. Rooms are newly renovated, functional, and air-conditioned. 3 options of good and fresh breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staffs.
The location of the hostel is suberb, 100m from the Egyptian Museum. Beside this I like the atmospheres, it is very friendly like an hostel but with hotel room style with private bathroom. I like this combination. Higly recommended.
The location of the hotel is excellent as it is really close to Tahrir Square with the Egyptian Museum, Sadat underground station as well as the Nile and Cairo Tower, all within walking distance.
Staff were all exceptionally helpful, flexible, understanding, educated and so kind-hearted, namely Shorouk, Basma, Fadi, Marwan, Magdi and Ziyad, the first three of whom have done an outstanding job, being the best of the best.
Room was large and comfortable (it had a fridge and a balcony), the shower curtain in the bathroom was nice and clean.
The hotel has the charm of earlier times of tourism in Cairo. It is very central. Tourist attractions such as the Egyptian Museum are within walking distance. The staff are courteous and the rooms are clean. Of course, a building that is over 100 years old does not have all the amenities of a modern hotel, but that is also part of the charm of the accommodation. The price-performance ratio is excellent.
The rooms were clean and very cozy, the brakfast was big and tasty, with egyptian food. Also, the location of the hostel was very close to the center, especially the Tahrir square and the Egyptian Museum. But the best thing was the help from Soha, the hotel recepcionist, who was so kind and helpful! She explained us a lot of egiptian traditions, gave us the best indications, and make of our stay a safe and joyful experience!
