Great views of the sea, mountains and interior of old city, but beware walking in the heat of day. It's exposed to full sun with little shade. We are in our 70s and fit, but the steep steps were challenging. Enjoy a gelato afterward!PatrickUnited States - 10Scored 10
Go early as possible.
Go early as possible. We stayed over night in town as it just happened to be our first night in Croatia. Got on the walls 1st thing, I think we even got to the start 20 mins before opening, small queue. Seemed to get busy quite quickly. BEautiful views though so worth a visit.

Check the cruise ship schedule, do not go walk the walls if there are 3+ ships at port. We went when there were 2 ships at about 5pm, about 1.5 hours before they close. Sure, still lots of people, but not at all packed or uncomfortable. Also the best lighting around this this time for views and pics.

It was within walking distance of shops, restaurants and bars. The host Slavica met us there and was super friendly and helpful, she provided us with a local map of the city and continued to keep in touch with us during our stay to ensure we were happy with everything as well as offering us her assistance with day trips and booking of taxis.

Spacious bathroom and the hosts mother greeted us when we arrived and watched our bags for an hour after checkout which was extremely helpful!

There are a lot of steps (130+) to reach the home, not easy to do many times a day, but that's probably valid for many locations in Dubrovnik. If you come to Dubrovnik you must walk and do steps. The rooms was very clean and with almost any service you could want to have. The host was very friendly and kind.ddItaly
