Amazing area learn the legends about the fairies and tell the stories to the children about Queen Maeve the warrior queen who may be buried at the top of Knocknarea. The mountain itself is some 324 m 1073 ft high and actually looks like a huge cairn (old burial place for people of notoriety) It is possible to climb and may take just over an hour depending on your fitness level but it is recommended you take plenty of water, good walking shoes and appropriate coat and remember it may be ok walking up there you also have to walk back

I love these pods and try to find them on all my travels. This one was absolutely ideal - its new and spotlessly clean and has an awesome host. The location suited brilliantly, there are beaches and surf nearby, plenty of food choices, and wasn't far to reach the mountains in Sligo, Knocknarea, Bricklieve etc. as well as Sligo town itself. Will definitely make it my first choice when returning.

This was the second time we stayed here. It is just a great hotel with lovely big rooms and a cracking breakfast. Staff are great and it has a lovely pool and spa. What more could you want? You're situated in the perfect spot to get the best out of Sligo. Right beside the city, two mins from rosses point, and about 15 mins from strandhill. Also, definitley make sure you hike up Knocknarea. Will be back.

The conversion of traditional seafront village buildings into a hotel was beautifully done. Rosses Point has a lovely promenade, so well looked after with low stone walls and masses of valerian in full bloom and great view of islands and Knocknarea.
