The scale is massive. It’s an impressive set of structures.
The scale is massive. It’s an impressive set of structures. Be aware that the guards will start talking to you and offering information in a friendly way, then demand money. No food is allowed in the complex and there did not appear to be any eateries around it. Eat before you go. We stayed several hours.

They helped us organise a tour of the Taj Mahal and our transport to the train station (plus generally being happy to help with any questions we had about sightseeing etc.). The new Agra Metro is directly outside the hotel and is a great way to access the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort without having to deal with traffic (also very easy to use).

Doesn’t have a crowded feel even though it was peak tourist season and appeared to be heavily booked. In the evening and some mornings there is live music and puppeteers and artisans displaying their skills and goods. Overall, I will add it to one of my best hotel short stays. The hotel dogs, Maya and Max are adorable.

The hotel staff can assist with tour guides and transportation too.

Their kitchen is excellent, they offer various food options. Agra Fort is in walking distance. The hostel is located in a traditional muslim neighbourhood. There is not much to do around the hotel, but people are nice and you can feel the sense of community. If you are looking for shiny shopping malls and Starbucks, then it is NOT the place for you. If you want to experience the real Agra and how the locals live, I do recommend. We had a great time.

Only spend a limited time here. Agra Fort is impressive, Fatehpur Sikri is an essential visit (half-day trip), but the Taj at sunrise is the way to do it. Get your ticket the day before though, to save queuing up at 5:30am.

Without doubt the Taj is unbeatable....one of the most magnificent monuments I have seen and India really takes care of it, unlike many of their other sites....The Agra Fort is huge and well worth the visit also.....The Taj tho is unforgettable....
