Matsumoto Castle is really cool and there are free English...
Matsumoto Castle is really cool and there are free English guides (& other languages too) who really provide a more informative and eye-opening tour of the castle. They are at the entrance so do approach them for a friendly and pleasant guided tour :) Walking through the different floors of the castle is an experience in itself. When the weather is good, you can also see really beautiful mountain views from the castle.AAnonymousSingapore

The hotel is within easy walking distance of Matsumoto train station, Matsumoto Castle, and Nawate shopping street making it great for getting around. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a good variety of food so whether you prefer Western or Japanese style breakfast you should be able to find something. The room is clean and we had space for our backpacks and to hang some clothes. The beds are comfortable and soft. The bathroom was clean and we had a bath which was nice. There is also a Japanese bath on the top floor which you can use if your staying at the hotel. From the hotel it is approximately 15 minutes to get to Matsumoto Castle. There are convenience stores and restaurants nearby.

There was even a personalized note welcoming us. It was nice to have a feel of a traditional Japanese house instead of the Western hotels. Plus, Matsumoto Castle grounds was literally just a minute walk away. The Metoba river was also within walking distance, so we enjoyed our hanami there on a quiet weekday morning before we left Matsumoto.BabPhilippines
