I've been past there many times, but never went up to the...
I've been past there many times, but never went up to the observation decks until I was in NZ with a friend from overseas. The views are really great, and it is the best place by far to get your bearings in sprawling Auckland (which, by land area at least, is one of the largest in the world). You can also do a bungee jump from the exterior walkway, which is quite exciting simply to watch.

Gorgeous view, check the weather during booking times and go before, during and after sunset if you can to maximise the experience. If dining up in Sky Tower, book about half an hour before sunset, enjoy the viewing platform for up to 45 mins before your booking (we only needed 20 to be satisfied) for free and then finish of with a meal during the sunset. In the lift, look down and watch the weight in the pulley system move away from you whilst ascending. Clear your nasal passages and look in to jaw movement (chewing gum for most) to release pressure with difference in metres above sea level and how that affects the sinuses.KiriNew Zealand - 4.0Scored 4.0

It would be really good if the Sky Tower could find a way to have their windows clean on the observation decks. I am sure with modern technology that there is a way. Also when we were there on the Saturday night 9/11/19 there was no attendant on the 60th level and the lifts to go to the 51st level had malfunctioned with a number of Concerned patrons having to walk down nine levels of stairs. Spectacular 360 degrees view day&night, must visit to get a whole picture of Auckland city!! Why not try the edge walk, a 360 degrees walk outside of the tower or even the Sky Jump 192m above the ground??

I enjoyed a meal with a view at the sky tower. It was nice and relaxed and was a really nice way to look down on the city and get my bearings. Breathtaking at night!
Breathtaking at night! Our hotel was close enough to walk back to the Sky Tower during the day and see more! It’s a whole complex of a Casino, restaurants and watching the brave folks who do the Sky Jump.
