Definitely go to Mesa Verde.
Definitely go to Mesa Verde. It was on our way to the Grand Canyon so I added it to our trip. SOOOO glad I did. Very interesting and informative. y all means do the ranger guided tours ($5 pp. per tour) we did the 2 shorter tours and they did not disappoint. Beautiful area on top of a butte. For history and nature people.

Fabulous!
Fabulous! Something one could visit over and over and learn something new each time. We took a tour of Cliff Palace, and really enjoyed it- HIGHLY recommended. I like that the guides do not follow a scripted presentation. Instead, they do research and present what they are passionate about, hence, you get a different perspective with each guide, excellent!KathleenUnited States - 10Scored 10
Canyons of the Ancient National Monument is a must see.
Canyons of the Ancient National Monument is a must see. If you are interested in the cultural history of the four corners region this is a great place to start. The Visitors's Center has an excellent museum, and it has an equally fine book store if you are looking for well-written histories on the ancient inhabitants of the region. If you visit in the summer go early in the morning; the afternoons can be very warm.
