A must visit for both history buffs and War buffs.

A must visit for both history buffs and War buffs. There are so many exhibits to see that I could barely get out of there in an hour and I was flying by each exhibit....I really just wanted to say I had been there and had given the museum a try as everyone was recommending it. I am not a big war buff, but I can admit that it was very thorough in its exhibits and artifacts and super huge! Definitely go if you like history and/or are interested in WWII.

For anyone with a military background or who is a history buff, this is a must-see. One could easily devote a full day here and and still not cover it all. The major attraction is a 4-D theater presentation narrated by Tom Hanks. Plenty of memorabilia can be had at an excellent outlet and the book store alone is worth the visit.

    This place is HUGE.

This place is HUGE. Do not underestimate how much time it'll take you to get through the museum. We were there for 6 hours and didn't see half of it. The exhibits were immersing and had detailed accounts of the events of WWII along with personal accounts from soldiers, nurses, generals, and more. There are plaques, videos, artifacts, and dioramas to keep you engaged. Each exhibit is an event and is designed differently. The Road to Tokyo is like being in a jungle; complete with foliage, cricket sounds, and a P40 Warhawk hanging above. Tip: Break this experience up between at least two days. A second day return ticket is only $6. The material is emotionally taxing and after a couple hours my brain couldn't process any more information. Luckily, they have a restaurant and 40s soda shop to take breaks in. It would be ideal to spend about 2-3 hours in each exhibit to fully appreciate the history.
