I really recommend this place if you want to see something authentic. I spent a few days in Manhattan, then moved to Red Hook and I was charmed by its energy and peace. It is really eccentric but cozy. You can eat amazing lobster roll nearby, just walk around or sit looking at the water sipping a bear.

The staff were particularly helpful, so a big thank you to them. Breakfast was basic but perfectly adequate. Nothing too fancy. Just the way I like it. Good price too. We also liked the location, Red Hook, Brooklyn. There were lots of lovely bars and cafes nearby, and several metro stations for easy access to Manhattan. Overall, my son and I were so impressed with this hotel.

The reception staff are very helpful. Plentiful parking on site - USD15/day. Very important in New York. There seem to be many eating places nearby. eg. Red Hook Lobster Pound - recommended. Not difficult to get into the city. The Carroll Street metro is a 10-15min walk away.
