It matched my expectation - including the location, nice host, lovely room, and especially the heater! It's been really cold in New Zealand (of course because it's winter) but the hotels we stayed were usually not warm enough even with the radiators on. But staying at Alice Garden was really warm, first of all, and plus cozy and pleasing.

The room and bathroom were lovely. It was nice to sit in the garden and admire the amazing view. We were welcomed and checked in by a delightful Chinese girl. A very comfortable bed ensured a good nights sleep.
