Great location, splendid view of the mountains from the rooftop where we enjoyed our morning coffee, amazing, kind and helpful (far beyond their obligations) owners, lovely and spacious apartment with all you need for your stay, absolute privacy (that made me often wonder how they do it since they actually live in that property, too!;-)). Excellent sheltered private parking, gorgeous garden to please your eyes and charming winter garden that was at our full disposal. We will definitely return … if they have us 😉♥️

The property has great character, lies right under the busy Tatras but in a quiet, private location. It’s within walking distance to Stara Lesna train stop. It was a perfect base for hiking in the Tatras and visiting Slovensky Raj and nearby attractions like Spiš castle etc by car. Hot water, heating and cooking facilities were good. Our dog also stayed and it was great to be able to sit outside on the porch with the gate to keep him inside. For dogs, there is also a good footpath/trail around a field and forest within 5 minutes walk from the cottage- also perfect place to photograph the mountains. For visitors with dogs be warned there are many cats in the neighbourhood so dogs might be better on a leash if tendency to chase cats. Also stairs up to bedroom are very steep and might be less suitable for some people. We had an amazing time at Chata Retro and hope to visit again in the future.

The location is excellent for a chill stay, there is a grill area and a big grassy area. The cable cars are about a 2km walk away, but the area is very calm, and there is a small pub nearby (200m) There is a small grocery shop about 1km walk away that has grill supplies. It's so calm we even saw a deer crossing the empty plot between the property and the pub. The inside of the house is big, there are 2 showers, a big living room and plenty of beds and storage. There is darts and a TV in the living room.

Kambarys tvarkingas ir švarus. Vonios kambarys erdvus, šildomos grindys, taip pat buvo šildytuvas, kuris labai reikalingas, kai grįžti is kalnų sulytas.
