The nearest airport is Koggala Airport, 89 km from the lodge. This place is like a dream. You sit on your own balcony surrounded by views of rain forest, mountain tops, birds in all colours. The extremely friendly host family prepares tasty sri lankan food, offer you fruits from their own garden - they have ALL sorts of interesting fruits depending on season. They show you around their tea plantage and all in all just makes you feel good. The cabana (cottage) has all basics and is very clean. This is not luxury, but I personally didn't miss anything. My best recommendations!

Very tasty sri lankan breakfast with fresh fruits. Nice place to seat outside in the garden. Nice beach with a bay to swim (which is rare in Midigama) and with a lot of shadow across the street. Perfect place to spend all hot day till sunset. Very nice and helpful hosts. Thank you very much for everything.

Guests at the lodge can enjoy cycling nearby, or make the most of the garden. Owner is super nice. Place is about 20 mins walk to the center through the jungle but you won’t get an amazing view anywhere else. The place is literally surrounded by paddies and you can see the train from the balcony. Bed is very comfortable and room is huge. If you’re not down for a small walk, the owner can arrange a scooter for you for cheap price. Highly recommend.

At the lodge you will find a restaurant serving Italian, local and Asian cuisine. Vegetarian, dairy-free and vegan options can also be requested. We spent 2 very nice days here. From outside our room we could watch the monkeys. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent.

Subhasha is a special place.I booked it as a treat for my wife's birthday and I'm so glad I did. Isuru is an excellent host, very responsive and flexible. The home was very clean, tidy and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying at Subhasha.
