As soon as we got to the accommodation, Frank was there to great us. Gave us a tour and some great advice for different activities in town. They were very accommodating as we had to make a few changes but we're still very helpful.

The lodges 3 guest rooms feature a satellite TV, a fridge, and an en suite bathroom. The view was great. Thoroughly enjoyed the birdlife visiting the beautiful gardens. Very pleasant and helpful hosts. Very clean room with some added touches to make the stay memorable. Loved all of the efforts the hosts are making to be considerate of the environment. Ample breakfast (fresh wild blackberries were amazing!) The garden gate opens onto the Conical Hill track - a lovely 30 min walk through forest on a wide, well maintained track.

The nearest airport is Kaikoura Airport, 67 km from the lodge. Booked at the last minute. They waited for us to check in after closing time. The lodge, very nice, cosy and well-kept. Carla and Glen, two lovely people. We felt like family. Too bad Italy is so far away, to go back there soon. If you are on the way, stay even just one night, it's worth it. Thank you Carla and Glen

The staffs offer quality service s, the chef amazing culinary is awesome, it is impressive for the 14 days -aged kingfish . The mountain /valley/river views are spectacular . The architecturally designed building is striking. It is unforgettable.

Spires Barn Lodge is a 12-minute drive from the city center. The nearest airport is Christchurch International Airport, which is just a 5-minute drive from the property. Leslie was an incredible host, was very accommodating to our group :)

The lodge offers a terrace. Spacious, clean & comfortable house. Large well stocked kitchen that made it easy to prepare meals. The view was of both mountains & water. Location is great. Easy to walk both to Kaikoura & South Bay & other tracks. Our host was very responsive & kind. Should we ever find ourselves in Kaikoura again, we would definitely stay here again.
