Kauri Lodge Karapirois 15 minutes' drive from both Hobbiton Movie Set and Cambridge Town Centre. This holiday home is an hour drive from Waitomo Caves, Tauranga and Rotorua. The location was perfect for our plans, surrounded by beautiful, lush green hills. The hosts were lovely and provided everything we needed for our stay.

Debbie and Ernst are great hosts who had lovely and special ideas such as the private bathtub in the rainforest and lots of different trails to discover. We had our breakfast outside the room to see the lovely view from the top of the hill. We arrived late due to an accident and Christine was so nice, switching on all the lights in the room for us so we can find our way to her place as the entrance is quite narrow and steep.

There were lots of special touches like organic soaps, free range eggs and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting

Thé excellent lake views, drew us to the verandahs each night to enjoy the sunsets, starry skies and a beverage or two - even my grandson joined us for the moments of enjoying nature with hot chocolate - The lodge is very well designed and catered to our large group four queen rooms one twin share three toilet/showers large dining lounge area and well catered kitchen and laundry. Would definitely come back. Helen and Steven are wonderful hosts and offered us foods for breakfast - very thoughtful. Various points of interest - the sculptures and night lighting in the gardens, alpacas and family dogs, the veggie garden which Helen offered some food from . Thank you

Free WiFi is offered. wow, this place was probably the best AirBnB type stay I’ve ever been. it is a blissful, large and wonderful granny flat that overlooks the town high up on the hill. breakfast is delivered to your door where you can enjoy it marvelling at the view. The open plan room is outstanding with everything you could need: large comfy bed, lounge area with Netflix, clean and fancy kitchen with coffee pods, huge bathroom with his and her showers plus large spa. note: you need a car to access this property
