This was the highlight of my visit to Peru. I arrived on the Titicaca train in the early evening, and a driver had been organized to drive me to the local port, where I was escorted by Juan, an exceptional host in every sense of the word, to the island which he and his father had built. During my stay there, Juan invited me on mini tours around some of the islands, where I learned more about Uros culture and history. The Peruvian meals prepared by his wife Amalia were exceptional- always on time, delicious, substantial and inviting. I was never hungry. Juan ensured that my stay at Amalia was truly exceptional and something which I'll never forget- watching the starry nights from a comfortable and warm bed, enjoying the sounds of silence of the lake, being mesmerized by the sunsets, and learning more about the natural beauty and wildlife of the area. This was truly an amazing experience!

Uros Lake Titicaca Lodge tiene vistas a la montaña y se encuentra en Puno. Cuenta con restaurante, servicio de habitaciones, bar, jardín y terraza. Se ofrece wifi gratis. Very nice experience living on the Uros islands. The accomodation is basic but has everything you need. The host family is outstanding and the trips with Carlos in his boats were great fun for us and our kids. A boat/shop passes by each morning to buy some basic stuff, and dinner (very good)/drinks can be bought (cheap).Gas heating in the room and warm bottles to keep your feet warm in the bed. Dont forget to bring cash!!

El Uros Samarana Uta Lodge dispone de solárium y vistas a la montaña y está situado en Puno. El lago Titicaca queda a 7 km. The stay at the lodge was amazing and very interesting. Cesar is an excellent host, showed us his community and told us very interesting things about their lifestyle. Additionally, the food was excellent! The rooms are also super nice and clean.

El Uros Summa Paqari está situado en la isla flotante de Uros, en Puno, a 7 km del lago Titicaca. El puerto de Puno está a 5 km. Todas las habitaciones disponen de baño privado. The location had amazing views - what else could you ask for being situated in the middle of Lake Titicaca. Vidal and his family were lovely and friendly. The rooms was exactly as the photo depicted. Our favorite spot would be the lounge area by the lake where you can just sit the whole day. The bathroom is also very comfortable - their toilet is flushable and they have a water heater. Lots of blankets are provided to keep you warm during the night. The food they served though simple was actually one of the best we had in Peru, and that's after dining at Lima and Cusco.

El Uros Qhantany Lodge está situado en el lago Titicaca, en las islas flotantes de los uros, a 5 km de la costa de Puno. La costa de Puno queda a 30 minutos en barco. Enchanting and peaceful location. The hosts were attentive, welcoming and very informative. They offered a small tour of the Uros Islands in traditional clothing which was a very nice touch. We also did a short traditional boat tour at sunset and we were shown how traditional fishing is being done. The food that was prepared was good, simple and plentiful.

La vista, la comodidad de las camas, compartir tiempo con los niños, conocer su cultura, su idioma, la noche estrellada.
