Staff is pure gold - genuinely kind and highly accommodating. They helped us with everything, from climate control to scooter rental to keeping something in their fridge. All inclusive is 100% recommended and includes alcohol. Cocktails are awesome - especially the house specials. Food is freshly prepared on order and beautifully presented. It makes you truly appreciate each and every bite and helps reduce overeating or waste.

Check in: Thomas the owner who oversees things personally, was kind enough to arrange for an early check in despite the short notice. He’s easygoing and friendly to deal with. Easy and straightforward process. They accept cards without giving you the looks (many properties in Jambiani don’t happily accept cards). You can use Apple Pay or Samsung Pay. The place itself: this is a brand new building with great finishing. The owner takes pride in his trees and the villa is surrounded by greenery inside it. There’s a pool, kitchen with a big new fridge for guests to store food, shower facilities next to the pool. There’s also a terrace upstairs with huge area for people who wanna have some privacy or do calls or just relax. It offers a nice 360 view of the village on all sides. The rooms: the rooms are quite modern and they are practically designed and equipped with everything you want. The ac was working perfectly and it was a relief in hot afternoons and nights (many properties don’t have ac or it doesn’t work). Really comfy beds (probably the best bed and mattresses I slept on in Zanzibar), a safe which is quite handy, a little desk if you have work, big washroom with great water pressure, everything in the room was brand new and working fine. The internet: I had couple of meetings and was suffering from the poor internet in other proper I. The wifi really saved me. The experience: the owner who was also staying at the property is warm and makes sure to check in on you and see if you need anything (the stay itself, directions, restaurant recommendations, etc.

The food served was delicious with a variety of options that satisfied my taste buds. A big advantage is the location of the hotel, just 1 minute from the beach, which made access to the sea extremely convenient. Mambo Cabana is certainly an excellent choice for a holiday getaway.

With pool views, Mkeka Spice Lodge Jambiani is situated in Jambiani and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. From the minute I walked into this place, it felt like family. While very comfortable, the property is not 5 star, however the staff are 5 star plus some. I've travelled a bit and have never had service like this place anywhere else in the world. The room was a good size and clean, the food prepared by the chefs was amazing, the outdoor areas were comfortable, the tours were arranged by Haji and Abu for a good price and anytime I needed to go somewhere, I just had to ask. Abu was fabulous company on the long drives. I would not hesitate to recommend Mkeka Lodge to anyone who is looking for accommodation in Zanzibar. Thanks guys for a memorable holiday..! 💗💗
