Small town with access to a great beach. From there you can explore the sierra nevada or even go further north and visit la Guajira. Even though this is not the most developed town, you can find budget hotels/hostels and great food.

The only thing it has for tourism is the Waya Guajira Hotel, and i think it’s enough to stay there for one night and to stay much longer in Riohacha or Uribia if you’re planning on going to Cabo de la Vela or Punta Gallinas. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway you can definitely stay in Albania (Waya Guajira) for a week or so, since there’s nothing to do besides swimming in the pool, relaxing in the hot tubs and paying for massages.

The breakfast at Playa Roca Ecohotel was amazing! They had the coolest thing ever - plantain pancakes! They were so tasty and different from regular pancakes. I loved every bite! The dinner was even better! We ate tasty seafood, and then we had a bonfire on the beach! The staff was really nice and made everything perfect.

Best location in Riohacha, best hotel in Riohacha. Some previous reviews mentioned the noise outside of the air conditioning units but I had no issues with either. It was a peaceful nights sleep and can’t beat the location. The breakfast was fresh and available until 10, excellent hospitality, fantastic view from the top floor terrace where the restaurant is. Paradise on earth - small resort with small half-open huts and hammocks directly at the beach, with amazing pool and absolute connection to the sorrounding nature - sounds of waves, jungle and animals. I loved the spacious half open huts and the geckos running around it. Great restaurant with very good fish dishes. The staff made a bonfire on the beach at night - simply amazing.

The food was very good and the staff was always friendly and made us feel very welcome. They also helped us organize tours and offer to sort out transportation. The hotel has a nice atmosphere, with lots of areas to hang out - right at the beach or by the pool. It’s also only a short walk into town. They offer great massages and you can rent a surfboard from the hotel next door. The rooms are also very nice and clean and we had a lovely view of the ocean.

Alisonn was really nice and we've felt very comfortable, moreover she bakes really good and tasty bread, delicious. In the end we stayed one night longer and we've really enjoyed the place and the calmness. The river is really close and it was amazing and very refreshing to cool down there. We also loved the not so central location, away from the main street but yet so close to reach everything easily.
