Featuring direct beach access, this resort has a barbecue area overlooking the ocean. Each self-contained apartment includes a private balcony or patio. Many apartments also have stunning ocean views and outdoor furniture. We stayed on the top floor in an apartment facing the ocean. I think it was number 8. It was perfect. We could cook our own meals in the well equipped full kitchen. It was well laid out to sleep a family of 4 and the beds were comfortable. We slept so well because of the black out blinds and lapping ocean just outside, My 22 year old daughter enjoyed using the trampoline and we both enjoyed the hot tub and having our meals on our balcony overlooking the beautiful view, The hosts were also lovely and very helpful with suggestions as to things to do. it was well located to walk and drive to different sites to visit in the surrounding areas. A nice bonus is it also had Netflix to relax at night with a movie, Because of the lack of noise and light pollution, star gazing was at its best. I would highly recommend this property.

Beachside Resort Motel is less than 5 minutes walk from Whitianga centre and less than 100 metres from Buffalo Beach. The hotel has an outdoor pool and a tennis court.

All of the rooms at Beachside Resort have a DVD player. The self contained apartments also have a kitchenette including tea and coffee making facilities. Exceeded expectations. However, expected sea views as per hotel name. A bit Fawltey Towers-- had to stand high on corner of room to see sea views between other houses in front of hotel. However everything else was perfect.

You can walk to Cathedral Cove from Hahei Beach Resort, follow the beach and connect to the Cathedral Cove walkway (the walk takes about 1 hour each way).

Not all accommodation has a lounge area, sofa, TV. Location was perfect, staff were lovely. Really relaxing place.

Just 8 minutes’ walk from Whangamata Beach, Palm Pacific Resort & Motel boasts an outdoor pool, a hot tub and a tennis court. It offers accommodation with free WiFi and a private patio overlooking the gardens. The location and how close it was to everything.

Located on The Esplanade overlooking Tairua Harbour, Paku Lodge Resort offers self-contained accommodation with a private balcony and harbour views. Guests enjoy free Wi-Fi, BBQ facilities and free kayak and bicycle rental. Great location, right opposite a toddler friendly beach. Staff was friendly and helpful when we arrived much later than originally planned. There is a common BBQ, laundry possibilities and one can borrow spades for hot water beach.

Located next to the Lost Spring Thermal Pools, this resort offers direct access to Buffalo Beach and has a heated outdoor pool, tennis court and a children's playground. Free WiFi is available in most rooms and all public areas. Great location, great accommodation and a really nice receptionist!!! Regret that we only stayed one night. Will definitely come back!!
