The Read is absolutely stunning throughout and the host was very welcoming and a fantastic chef! We chose the larger room and although it was on the ground floor it was worth it for the space and decor. Nico catered brilliantly for my coeliac (gluten free) dietary requirements and was so helpful in organising a taxi for our trip to Volubilis. The location is great as it is outside the Medina and in a quiet street near a nice open square and rooftop terraces.

The riad is beautiful and located in the Medina, yet it is easy to access the main road. The 2 guys at reception were great. they let me check in early and kept my bags as I went to Volubilis and brought my stuff to my room other pluses: - breakfast was delicious! there were olives, awesome Moroccan crepes served with honey and jam on the side, a croissant and another French pastry, plus a baguette with olive oil- all for one! - super clean - hot water in the shower, day and night!

The place was Exceptional. The staff incredibly. They paid attention to every little detail. The breakfast was the best I’ve ever had. When I came back to my room on the 2nd day I found my bed made, new towels and they had even folded the cloths I had left out. My toothbrush and paste were neatly placed in a mug by the sink. The best stay in decades.

The host is welcoming and attentive. The room and bathroom were generous in size and the wifi excellent. Traditional Moroccan breakfast was fine. Note that there is a large amount of restoration work going on in Meknes as at May 2023 so many of the sites are either closed or behind hoardings and not visible.

The lady and her daughter are very nice hosts, who showed us how to navigate to the maze of the Medina and how to easily find back to the riad. In the evening she prepared a delishes meal for us and gave us a deep insight in real Maroccan life and rituals. Thanks for that great experience. We abslolutly recommend this riad for your stay in Menkès. We hope, that we will have the possibility to come back.
