Everything exceeded our expectations. We prefer the bath at this hotel to outside ones! Only one couple stayed other than us, so the staff were very attentive. We were fortunate.

We booked a twin room which was very spacious as the cupboards provided storage for our bags so they didn't need to be kept on the floor. We dropped our bags off early and while we were out exploring, the owner took our bags to our room which was extremely kind of her since you have to take stairs to get to the room (no lift available). She provided us with Yakatas, slippers, shoes, toiletries, bath/ onsen passes, socks, tea and extra blankets. The room does get cold at night but there is a heater and plenty of blankets to use. The owner cleaned our room while we were out exploring which we didn't expect but was much welcomed. She helped us dress in the Yakatas for the onsen festival and gave us baskets and towels to use. Was a lovely stay. Close to the train station, family mart and main strip of Kinosaki.

Guests at Japanese-style hotel Ichidaya can reserve a hot spring bath for private group use, or relax with free coffee at the lounge. From March until October ladies can borrow a colourful yukata robe.

This was the perfect place for an authentic stay in Kinosaki. The location allows for you to visit all seven onsen, the rooms were spacious and clean, and, best of all, the dinner and breakfast were tasty feasts. Both meals took place in our room, where staff cleared the area and then served us several courses of delicious food. We were lucky to be in town during the famous crab season and enjoyed both crab and shabu shabu tajima beef for dinner. After dinner, the space was cleaned and our tatami beds were set up in the evening. We didn't stay around to watch, of course, because post-dinner onsen is a must! We had such a thrill walking around town in the yukata that were provided by the hotel and also appreciated the umbrellas they gave us to shelter from the light mist. Ichidaya is a great spot for anyone looking for a hotel that balances the freedom of visiting all that Kinosaki has to offer (we also made it to Onsen-ji, up to the top of Mt. Daishi, and visited several shops) while also experiencing the magic of ryokan hospitality.

The air-conditioned rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. Each comes with a flat-screen TV, a fridge and an electric kettle. Includes an en suite bathroom and stylish Japanese Yukata robes are provided for female guests.

The staff went above and beyond. The moment it started raining the hotel send out the driver to loan us 3 umbrellas. The hotel also offers a driver to take you to the 7 public onsens. Very relaxing. We had a Japanese style room which I don’t find very comfortable, but my skinny friend said the futons were fine. We had the most luxurious breakfast I’d ever had. Very tasty.

Centrally located in the Onsengai (main street), Kinosaki Onsen Kawaguchiya Honkan offers a public and a private-use hot-spring bath, free WiFi and Japanese accommodations. Colourful yukata robes can be borrowed at an extra cost, from the front desk. Drinks vending machines are on site.

It was our first stay at a ryokan. When we arrived at Kinosaki onsen, we were experiencing jet lag. It helped us a lot that the staff allowed us to check in earlier. A stay in this accommodation supported the magical atmosphere of Kinosaki onsen. After booking the accommodation, we also ordered dinner and breakfast. The food was very tasty and interesting. Especially the food that was being prepared on burners in front of us. The service was very attentive and friendly. The opportunity to dress in haori and yukata with accesories was also a great experience.

The location is great-- very close to the train station and an easy walk to all the onsens. It is above a coffee shop with great coffee and a foot soak area (the reception is the coffee shop counter). They give you a basket with towels and socks for toting to the onsens, which is much appreciated. The room was spare, but incredibly clean. The internet worked well. Breakfast was simple but good (yogurt, toast, hard boiled egg, slaw, sausage and coffee).

Absolutely fantastic location, just opposite the station and within walking distance of restaurants and onsens. Nice to have a private bathroom which isn’t always an option in Japan.
