Offering mountain views, Dainichiya-ryokan is an accommodation situated in Sasaguri, a few steps from Akashi-ji Temple and 600 metres from Yamate Kannondo Temple. This ryokan is truly exceptional. We stayed for four days and visited various places around: the city of porcelain Arita, Fukuoka, Nanzoin (the largest bronze statue of Buddha), ... The connection is perfect, just 20 minutes by JR train from Fukuoka Hakata station. The scenery around is nice: hills, big dam, temple, and a well-kept garden. The staff is friendly and creates a welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast and dinner were traditional and very well served in handmade porcelain bowls. We were in Japan for three weeks in various hotels. This accommodation and food was the best we had. Great experience.

Kominka neri（古民家煉り） is situated in Miyawaka, 12 km from Azenomachi Ehon Museum, 13 km from Ino Tensho Kotai Jingu Shrine, as well as 14 km from Hisasue Park. The onsen in the room was fantastic. The room was huge and had a great traditional feel. The garden outside and the shogi screens really gave it a cosy feeling.

Hatago is set in Yanagawa. Free WiFi is available. At the ryokan, each room includes a desk. The shared bathroom is equipped with free toiletries. Clean property, comfortable and well located! Close to restaurants/bars/izakayas. The lady who welcomed us was so nice and helpful! We arrived late so she called some restaurants to see if they were still open so we could have diner. We found a big spider in our room and she helped us get rid of it. Very nice accommodation and wonderful host!

Ryokan Kibun offers accommodation in Tsuiki, 26 km from Kitakyushu. Tsuiki Station on the Nippou Honsen Line is a 5-minute walk from the property. Amazing dinner and sweetest staff ever.

Ohana is located in Yanagawa. Free WiFi access is available. Each room here will provide you with air conditioning and a minibar. Loved the room, facilities, the kind and helpful staff. We regretted not staying longer.

The highlight is the breakfast and dinner!! Really like the food , delicious and very delicate for each dish. Almost 7-9 dishes each meal. Room is very clean and spacious!!

Located in Akizuki, Akitsuki Kominka Ryokan You boasts a garden, terrace and free WiFi throughout the property. Free parking is provided for guests at this accommodation. the owner is a quite person but very kind and considerate. she was one of very few accommodation-owners who speak english. 1. specially she took care of our electrical bicycles which need battery charging. she made an indoor space in a different house which is perfect. 2. also the kitchen which is well devised and like home kitchen was very nice to use. 3. the room we stayed has so nice mountain view, which was tranquil. 4. during our stay, it was heavy rain and we, bike traveller, probably made the space dusty. but she understood the situation and was generous to provide more towels to wipe water on body. 5. we vediotaped the house because her retro-renovation of the old farm house(actually looks old shop house in a farming village) was very intriguing and informative. (very japanese as well as very moderate and inexpensive)
