Located in Chikushino, 500 metres from Buso-ji Temple, Daimaru Besso has a number of amenities including a bar and free WiFi. This was the best stay I have ever stayed. So much that I really want to gatekeep it. It was whimsical and out of a fairytale, looks exactly, if not better than the pictures. I really regret not staying longer. Room was super vintage beautiful and clean, very big too. Facilities are good, hot baths were immaculate. I am 200% going back. This place was the best decision I have made last year. Highly recommend❤️ thank you for making my stay memorable❤️✨

Offering mountain views, Dainichiya-ryokan is an accommodation situated in Sasaguri, a few steps from Akashi-ji Temple and 600 metres from Yamate Kannondo Temple. A beautiful traditional ryokan which is part of a temple. Super friendly staff and amazing breakfast. The bathroom facilities are old but everything is very clean. A traditional tatami room with comfortable futons is prepared for you while you are at dinner.

Craft Inn Te, a property with a garden, is situated in Yame, 24 km from Yoshinogari Historical Park, 28 km from Hirayama Hot Spring, as well as 39 km from Kanzeon-ji Temple. Very beautifully and thoughtfully designed. Katie, who was the receptionist when we stayed there was very kind and helpful. It’s located in a small town, filled with kind people, as well as delicious food and tea. Really enjoyed our stay and we were inspired a lot by the craft.

Kominka neri（古民家煉り） is situated in Miyawaka, 12 km from Azenomachi Ehon Museum, 13 km from Ino Tensho Kotai Jingu Shrine, as well as 14 km from Hisasue Park. We love the vibe, the food and the service.

Hatago is set in Yanagawa. Free WiFi is available. At the ryokan, each room includes a desk. The shared bathroom is equipped with free toiletries. Our host was very helpful and friendly. When our pizza could not be delivered, she even went out of the way to go amd collect for us herself. The rooms are quaint and lacking for nothing. Many restaurants nearby and would love to visit again.

Ryokan Kibun offers accommodation in Tsuiki, 26 km from Kitakyushu. Tsuiki Station on the Nippou Honsen Line is a 5-minute walk from the property. Really nice location with food and station close by. Nice rooms and bath. Staff really nice even though we spoke little Japanese.

Ohana is located in Yanagawa. Free WiFi access is available. Each room here will provide you with air conditioning and a minibar. This truly is a special place, far exceeding our expectations. It's not just a hotel but a destination, a cultural gem. The historical Great Hall and the Japanese garden are beautiful. In the evening you can sit on the edge of the Great Hall looking out on to the beautifully lit garden that surrounds a small lake. And the hotel provide you with sake and other drinks at no charge to aid a truly memorable experience. Our room was large, spacious, comfortable and clean, with a fabulous view over the garden. Breakfast was traditional Japanese, and of the highest quality. All the staff were courteous, and very helpful. There is an excellent museum right next door to the hotel to which entry is free to hotel guests. So don't miss it or the tour around the historical parts of the hotel. This is probably the most glowing review I have ever given on Booking.com, but it absolutely deserves it.

Boasting various outdoor/indoor hot spring baths and on-site massage salons, Nansuikaku provides spacious rooms featuring chic furnishings and a relaxing ambience. The onsen experience was superb. It was not too crowded. There was an outdoor public bath with a surreal vibe. Remember to bring some money there to enjoy the milk after the onsen. The staff was really nice. I lost my JR pass there, and they helped me ship the pass to my next hotel. Very appreciated their effort on finding it.

Located in Akizuki, Akitsuki Kominka Ryokan You boasts a garden, terrace and free WiFi throughout the property. Free parking is provided for guests at this accommodation. Firstly, amazing host, we have no words to describe how cute she was when bonding with our kid! The room is lovely, perfect kitchen facility, a nice garden. There was actually much to do in this small town, which was lovely during Sakura time.
