This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. So affordable and the beds in the dorm feels super big. It’s quiet and a very relaxing atmosphere. The staff were absolutely amazing and helped me get around, reserve dinner at restaurants and so on. Highly recommend! The Hakone free pass bus stops right outside. The onsen is also very nice. There’s also a 7/11 3 mins away which came in handy. Also the kitchen has so many supplies! So many different teas. Best place to relax after busy Tokyo

I got lucky with the room because I had a vending machine with beer right next to my door.
The location is good, not far from bus/train stations, but it might be a bit inconvenient if you have suitcases since the road from the stations is quite busy and doesn’t have pedestrian area. For me it wasn’t an issue since I had only a backpack.
The room was spacious and clean, the staff were super friendly. Amazing outdoor onsen. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

1) Excellent service from the entire staff. Laxmi was super friendly and helping us with our breakfast meal and checking us out. The lady at dinner service was also sharing with us some background about each of the sake that we tasted.
2) We loved the Villa, it was perfect from the fire place to the Spotify playlist and not to mention the open air Onsen. We really liked the wooden cabin feeling and privacy from other guests.

The geniune friendliness and hospitality. This guest house is peaceful and lovely. The rooms are traditional Japanese, with tatami mats and futons, clean and honest. There is a tea/coffee station, and it is clearly a favourite destination for travellers, new and returning. The hosts are very helpful and kind. And the onsen! A perfect stay to offset more modern-style hotels in bigger cities.
Traditional keisiki dinner and bfast included, making this great value for money. Great service. We booked the private onsen for an extra fee which was totally worth it (this is a traditional old bath; not a spa experience). Choice of colourful yukatas for the wife. Traditional-style room but not authentic, as most of the more affordable ryokans.
The interior reminded me us of a modern ryokan (shoes off and stored in lockers and tatami flooring throughout the accommodation), it also had a lovely indoor and outdoor onsen which was perfect after a long day. The lobby also provided free coffee and tea which was a real blessing after a long drive. The rooms were spacious and clean and overall a great place to stay.
This place is an absolute gem, as are the owners. They go above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable. They even drove us to restaurants for dinner and organised the bookings. I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful accommodation. The onsens are so good and private use is great. The room was large and impeccably clean and quiet. We loved the tatami, futons and having a private toilet.
very traditional place, with all traditional amenities expected (futon, tatami, tea set, onsen, ...) ; superb dinner and breakfast, served in the close-by restaurant (set menu), incredible quality for a little price; position is 10/10, everything interesting to visit is at walkable distance, also there is a supermarket in front
We had such a fantastic experience during our stay at Ajisai and loved walking around in the supplied Yukatas! We really enjoyed the private onsen which we definitely made use of with our family, and the futon bed was extremely comfortable. Just note that it is a fair walk (especially if you have luggage), so best to take a taxi from Gora Station to get to the Ryokan.
Beautiful Japanese ryokan in a magical setting. The multi-course kaseiki dinner and traditional breakfast were superb, with all the dishes impeccably presented and absolutely delicious. Our lovely hostess, Kyoko, graciously served us and patiently explained every dish using goggle translate. The onsens had great district views and we emerged from the hot spring water feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. We would love to come back here again!
Amazing facilities. You get to experience a lot as you get complementary yukatas and access to an amazing onsen. The rooms are very well furnished and the tatami mats and futons are a must experience
The traditional Ryokan was what we searched for and we were happy to receive the full experience with yukata's and futons. We had a personal toilet for the room (not in the room itself but we expected a shared one) And we were lucky with the onsens as we could use them both times by ourselves. The food was delicious and a good introduction to traditional Japanese food
A very traditional Japanese inn (ryokan). The outdoor hot spring (onsen) is fabulous. The food quality in the restaurant is very high at this price range. The staff is very friendly and they can speak English well.
