What a great find this accomodation has been! After being initially slightly dissapointed we could not get a funaya accommodation, after our actual stay, all I can say is how lucky we were to have experienced the stay here instead. The room was so spaceous, and bright, with all the facilities we would have wanted. The kotatsu has been lovely! All the decoration and overall setting feels so cosy and warm. Exceptional breakfast, with many delicious choices. Lots of flavor and fresh, local ingredients. Loved the pickles and the atsuki dessert! Everything was spot on! Much more than we could have hoped. Wish we could have stayed more to enjoy the room facilities even better.

The staff were also very friendly and Mayuko, who checked us in, was very very kind and had the best recommendations. We hope to see her again when we next visit!

Set less than 1 km from Gion Shijo Station, Gion Oyado Kikutani offers 3-star accommodation in Kyoto and features a garden. Staff were really helpful and kind. Lovely room, very clean. Comfy bed. Location was great.

Situated in Kyoto, 800 metres from Heian Shrine, 明和荘Mei Wa Inn features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and express check-in and check-out. Wonderful ryokan located in the heart of Kyoto. The host was lovely, welcoming, and attentive to our needs. We had the entire first floor to ourselves which had all amenities we could've possible needed.

Ryokan Inakatei ligger i Kyoto, 1,4 km fra Samurai Kembu Kyoto, og har hage og rom med klimaanlegg. The room was beautiful! It felt very special to be staying in a 200-year-old traditional Japanese home. The room is very spacious, fresh tatami mats throughout, and has a lovely view into the temple yard across the road. Our host (I wish I could remember her name!) was so gracious and helpful. The only reason we bumped the bed comfort down from "exceptional" is that we aren't used to sleeping on futons. The pillows were nice and the blankets were warm and cozy.
