Our stay was amazing. Great location, lovely helpful staff and the room was beyond our expectations. Clean, beautiful, with tiny sweet details. Bathroom was great. Would book it again in a heartbeat!

The Ryokan itself is really nice and traditional, with a lovely small garden, the staff war very kind. The japanese and western style breakfast buffet was also great. Can absolutely recommend!

Located in Ine, 16 km from Manai Shrine and 16 km from Motoise Kono Shrine, 海蔵寺 宿坊 櫻海 provides air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi. What a great find this accomodation has been! After being initially slightly dissapointed we could not get a funaya accommodation, after our actual stay, all I can say is how lucky we were to have experienced the stay here instead. The room was so spaceous, and bright, with all the facilities we would have wanted. The kotatsu has been lovely! All the decoration and overall setting feels so cosy and warm. Exceptional breakfast, with many delicious choices. Lots of flavor and fresh, local ingredients. Loved the pickles and the atsuki dessert! Everything was spot on! Much more than we could have hoped. Wish we could have stayed more to enjoy the room facilities even better.

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, 祇園の宿 杏花 is located in Kyoto, 300 metres from Gion Shijo Station and 600 metres from Samurai Kembu Kyoto. The place is beautiful and very central to visit Kyoto, the staff is very friendly and always attentive if we needed anything, a wonderful experience, we will return if possible.

Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki St. Provides accommodation located 600 metres from the centre of Kyoto and offers an open-air bath and a shared lounge. A unique and traditional experience with a modern twist. The staff were also very friendly and Mayuko, who checked us in, was very very kind and had the best recommendations. We hope to see her again when we next visit!

Located within less than 1 km of Gion Shijo Station and a 15-minute walk of Samurai Kembu Kyoto, Ishibekoji Muan provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Kyoto. The receptionist who welcomed us was Rachel. She was very helpful and nice.

Set less than 1 km from Gion Shijo Station, Gion Oyado Kikutani offers 3-star accommodation in Kyoto and features a garden. Staff were really helpful and kind. Lovely room, very clean. Comfy bed. Location was great.

Situated in Kyoto, 800 metres from Heian Shrine, 明和荘Mei Wa Inn features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and express check-in and check-out. Wonderful ryokan located in the heart of Kyoto. The host was lovely, welcoming, and attentive to our needs. We had the entire first floor to ourselves which had all amenities we could've possible needed.

It felt very special to be staying in a 200-year-old traditional Japanese home. The room is very spacious, fresh tatami mats throughout, and has a lovely view into the temple yard across the road. Our host (I wish I could remember her name!) was so gracious and helpful. The only reason we bumped the bed comfort down from "exceptional" is that we aren't used to sleeping on futons. The pillows were nice and the blankets were warm and cozy.
