During our 16-day holiday in Japan, my husband & I, together with another couple, stayed in 7 ryokans/hotels & Iseya is the BEST! The hotel is new & clean & the facilities are so good! We opted for dinner & breakfast in the hotel & we were so happy & satisfied with the quality & freshness of the food & service level of the attending staff who went beyond their call of duty to make us comfortable! Special mention goes to a male service staff (I think he is the supervisor; forgot his name but was Mayama or something) who served us dinner on 15 Nov. We wanted to order a bottle of red wine & sake to go with our dinner & asked for his recommendation. The sake he recommended was so good, we decided to buy 2 extra bottles to bring home! When this same male service staff heard from us that we had to rush off to catch the ferry to Kumamoto the next morning & breakfast only starts at 7.30am, he left word for our breakfast to be ready earlier. We were pleasantly surprised & so grateful that a new batch of service staff were waiting for us at the dining room when we went down to checkout at 7.20am on 16 Nov. Really fantastic service! Banshoukaku is offering accommodation in Tsushima. The air-conditioned accommodation is 35 km from Watatsumi Shrine. At the ryokan, every unit has a private bathroom. The location was perfect with many shops in walking distance. The proprietor was very kind. The 3 breakfasts we got were different each day, authentic, and delicious. Room was cleaned everyday while we were out.

Set in Unzen and only 48 km from Nagasaki Museum of History, Hanzuiryo offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Beautiful setting in the Unzen National park area. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at.

Boasting 4 indoor/outdoor hot spring baths, Yuyado Unzen Shinyu is located a 30-minute drive from Shimabaragaiko Train Station. Free Wi-Fi is available at public areas. We had in-room onsen, which was amazing. The public onsen was also good. Dinner in a private room for our party was delicious. The town is very convenient to the mountains and the rest of the Unzen part of the national park.

Unzen Kyushu Hotel is a minute's walk from Unzen Jigoku and an 18-minute walk from Unzen National Park. The ryokan features luggage storage space. Great view from room. Bed is comfortable and felt as if I’m at home.

Nisshokan Bettei Koyotei is located in the Nagasaki Area, a 10-minute drive from Nagasaki Peace Park. Featuring views of the beautiful Nagasaki, it offers a public bath and free parking. A visit to Nisshokan Bettei Koyotei is like a step back to gentle and easy days. Absolutely 1st rate staff made everything about my stay enjoyable and relaxing. It was obvious they prepared well, learned who we were and what we liked. I felt valued, pampered, and relaxed. There is no better location in Nagasaki. What a view!

Located in Unzen, a 19-minute walk from Unzen National Park, Minshuku Unzen features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. Very good, affordable option in Unzen. The facilities are very clean, the room is traditional with futon and yukata, and the bath is nice. The pension does not have outdoor bath but there are many public baths just a few minutes away. The host is a very welcoming old lady, she prepares nice typical Japanese breakfast. Thank you! 😊🙏

Boasting public baths and a sky lounge with beautiful views of Nagasaki, Inasayama Kanko Hotel is a 10-minute drive from JR Nagasaki Train Station. View was amazing. Staff has been very helpful and friendly.
