Lovely unique stay in Old town Udaipur with fabulous architecture and very helpful staff. We were in awe of the old world charm and decor in our room. Yuvraj was great with very useful tips about exploring the area and Jitendra was just as nice the next day. We had an incident where we accidentally locked ourselves out and the staff were very quick to help, providing us with another room while the issue was sorted (our fault entirely) and we were so pleased with how accommodating they were.

A truly lovely city without the chaos of Jaipur or Delhi. It felt like an oasis. The city centre is very exciting - and attractive. The sunset boat ride is a must, also the puppet show at the museum, and the folk dancing at the city palace.

It’s a hidden gem inside Udaipur‘s old city! All sightseeing, cafés, bars and restaurant are within a few minutes walking distance. But what makes this hotel outstanding is its staff and its love to keep the traditional spirit alive - in every small corner of the hotel.
We enjoyed very much Akshays hospitality, the breakfast and the city palace view from the terrace.
just a tip from our experience
call Akshay a day before and he would help you how to reach the hotel - depending on your travel mode :)
we will definitely come again!
This was a real find - the old haveli that houses the hotel is an architectural gem, full of atmosphere and relatively comfortable. The staff were friendly and super helpful, even helping me carry my luggage down the street to where I could catch a taxi. The onsite restaurant is fine, and the art store in the building has lots of beautiful things for very fair, hassle free prices. The location is perfect, too - it's steps from the lake at Gangaur Ghat and an easy walk to many of Udaipur's attractions.
The hotel is little but charming and the rooms are very beautiful. We got an upgrade and the bathroom was very big and had 2 sinks, a big shower and a bathtub. The reception was open 24/24 and ready to meet your requests. The breakfast was delicious and the waiters very polite. The restaurant on the terrace has a magnificent view of Udaipur and the food served is tasty and cheap. Laundry service was provided. The manager helped us in booking a train ticket to Jaipur.
Cost: very cheap compare to other hotels
Location: in old udaipur city, just behind city palace, main market is very close
Staff: very supporting, helped us to find good restro and many time staff person brought food for us at room and provided good service.
Rooftop: enjoy your lunch/dinner and drink
Good room space.
I think you wouldn't get this kind of facilities in cheap amount.
Highly recommended
the location of hotel is it’s best aspect. the view from the top is amazing. you can clearly see the taj hotel in the middle of the lake and hills are visible far away. Night view is spectacular. Best value for money. Walkable distance to jagdish temple and city palace (top 2 places to see in Udaipur). Market starts from right outside the hotel. Great market to shop for souvenirs.
So far the best hotel we've stayed at in India. The location is amazing.Far from the crowded streets but still conveniently close to the main attractions The property is very charming, well maintained and clean. The room was very comfortable and the view from the window was fantastic. We definitely loved the food served at the restaurant. Best place to stay in Udaipur!
Location was perfect, on the shores of the lake. I particularly like the fact that it was the only modern palace hotel. The other hotels had a very dated 80s feel to them. I have stayed in 4 hotels in Udaipur and for me this was the best. In addition, the service and food are really top notch. And one last thing, the cocktails are of a very high standard too.
The hotel is near major attractions in the old city of Udaipur. The city Palace, Bagore ki Haweli, Pichola Lake, Jagdish Mandir. The restaurant of the hotel is Lake Facing.
Rooms were above average would say. The staff was cooperative and hospitable.
Harsh, Irshaad, and Gyan Singhji are doing a great job to go at lengths to provide high-quality service.
Situation, the view, staff great although a little slow getting going (much like the rest of India). Food was good, alcohol comparatively reasonable, spa is brilliant and room with balcony great. Udaipur old town is nearby but the hotel faces the North lake and is much quieter than the bustle and chaos of Lake Pichola. A hidden gem.
A family-run hotel that is situated near the Leela Palace.
The highlight of the place is the terrace that has a spectacular view of the city palace, Lake Pichola, and other significant buildings around it. It's one of the places to relax and view the beauty around you by sipping a cup of coffee or a drink
The hotel is located very close to jagdish temple, gangor ghat, ambria ghat, city palace. The hotel is just too good with a traditionally decorated room as Rajasthan culture and the breakfast was awesome. the receptionist was always polite, smiling and helping.
1. The staff, especially Heer Singh, was very helpful and went out of their way to assist us.
2. Hotel was places in a central location, only 1km from the railway station and 1.5km from the Udaipur City Palace.
3. Rooms were clean.
I have been to Udaipur couple of times, I must say Shapura Barliyas House is one of the finest hotel in Udaipur. The room were spacious and service was top notch. The view from terrace was also very amazing. A value of money hotel.
This is a lovely place to stay in Udaipur! The women there are so friendly and welcoming. And the room was beautiful-like a little boutique hotel room. Plus the Indian breakfast each morning was awesome. Definitely recommend!
Convenient location, nice food, excellent room service, supportive staff and clean washroom make this the best choice to stay when you are in udaipur. 5 min from lake pichola, this is a highly recommended hotel.
Great place with a very nice ambience, courteous staff and well furnished rooms. Must visit place in udaipur for a trip with friends and family. The hotel is very well managed by Heritage of India.
The rooms are spacious and super clean. All hotel staff be it reception or restaurant are very courteous and helpful. Food is too good. An extra star to all staff members of Opulence Inn, Udaipur.
