This place is a gem, friendly people, super clean, quiet & comfy - & all minutes from Knaresborough railway station on the York to Harrogate line. Excellent value, delicious home cooked breakfasts (& catered for g/f & d/f..) - & a gorgeous sunny courtyard garden full of flowers & birds: brilliant! Beautiful spacious rooms at back overlooking garden, plus others onto street (but it's not busy). Knaresborough is a fascinating place full of history & quirkiness, just 20 minutes on train to York. LOTS of pubs, cafes, restaurants & independent shops, a delight!

Excellent accommodation for a group of three travelling from south to north. Just off the A1. Location next to river. Beautiful walk along riverside. Very well maintained safe site. Parking available next to van.
Set in Knaresborough, 7 km from Allerton Castle, Teardrop Cottage features free WiFi access and free private parking. Each room is equipped with a flat-screen TV.
Knaresborough is a lovely picturesque place. Small enough to walk around and big enough for keeping your interest. The town including castle associated museum, river and gardens were delightful, plenty of hostelries and cafes for food and drink for varying tastes and shops enough for any retail interests.
If that wasn't enough for you, Harrogate is just " down the road" which we didn't visit on our two night stay, being just enough for the delights of this slightly "behind present times" and overall quaint feel of the place.
Would thoroughly endorse it for a nice break although I have to say the sunshine did help the mood.

Knaresborough is a beautiful historic town.
Knaresborough is a beautiful historic town. The castle ruins are well worth a visit, and entrance to the grounds is free. The gorge through which the River Nidd flows is breathtaking, and there is an attractive path alongside it. Boating is a popular pastime. The town is well supplied with coffee shops and pubs, with some restaurants as well. The market place is good for sitting down and watching the world go by on a pleasant day, and there are references to two characters from the town's history, Old Mother Shipton and Blind Jack.

We loved our weekend in Knaresborough at the Christmas...
We loved our weekend in Knaresborough at the Christmas market and I would certainly recommend anyone to visit. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and lots of privately owned shops which is a bonus these days. A walk along the river is a must with a cafe to pop in for a hot chocolate when it’s chilly!

Great location just next to the train station so easy access if you don't want to use a car. Parking provision nearby was fine. Friendly and helpful staff who had a laugh with us. Breakfast could have been better but I think there was a staff issue that was temporary so no problem. We enjoyed our stay with our friends and would certainly go again, perhaps using the train system to get there. Knaresborough is a lovely town - good pubs and restaurants and we found plenty of walking by the river and up to the castle.
Everything about this hotel is perfect. From the warm friendly greeting you get on arrival from Karen, the comfy beds to sleep in, the pillows on the bed that your head just sinks into. the little complimentary bottle in the bathroom. Fresh milk for tea and coffee. Biscuits and chocolates on your tea tray. All the rooms are bright and airy. The breakfast is cooked to whatever you order no matter how big or small. there is nothing i would change about this hotel at all
The friendly staffs were present and available for any assistance needed. It appears the property was recently renovated, so everything is updated. Attention to details in all areas. Breakfast menu is extensive and food was tasty. Very large and comfortable living room area. The bedroom is spacious. Very good location, close to train station, town center and a lot of attractions.
Great base if you want to explore the area, and the site itself is very clean with decent facilities, and some great walks you can do in the area. Dog friendly which was a must for us. Unfortunately the on site pub weren't serving food so we just ordered a takeaway which was delivered to reception to collect. The caravan was an excellent price and would highly recommend.
We stayed here for 2 nights on our way to Scotland. Just a very average Pub! Our room was adequate and clean. We had a meal the first night which was okay, breakfast was served in the adjoining 5 star hotel. It was good but my goodness I would have been disappointed if we had paid 5star prices!
Great location within Knaresborough, easy short walk to town centre, shops and restaurants etc. Good furnishing, comfortable lounge and pretty outside garden space. Well designed small kitchen. Knaresborough offers beautiful riverside views and quaint town to explore.
The location is spot on right in town centre. The long stay car parks are a ten minute walk and very cheap for a 24 hour stay. The apartment has everything you need with complementary tea and milk. I have no reason to stay anywhere else when I visit Knaresborough
Comfortable accommodation in a great quiet location. A lovely walk to town down the pretty Abbey Road. Good access to Knaresborough Harrogate and surrounding areas for walking. A mice outside seating area for sunny days. Would highly recommend it.
The location is in a pleasant village of Ferensby and there is plenty of car parking the service at the Hotel is friendly and helpful.
The breakfasts are excellent and altogether a place I would certainly go back to
The hotel is beautifully decorated in a perfect position in Knaresborough. Rooms were imaculate and very comfortable. Staff were very nice, breakfast was buffet and beautiful. Plenty of parking
The hotel was excellent, very good lay out. Restaurant, bar and area to relax where all spacious.
The location was excellent for us to visit York via the park and ride which worked well for us.
central to riverside and town centre of knaresborough, a comfortable small cottage with all amenities needed for a perfect short stay with free parking a few minutes walk away.
Excellent town centre location and easy to find. Well equipped and very comfortable stay. Nice friendly hosts.
Especially liked the private courtyard area for relaxing.
The fantastic central location is near the river and town centre. The very friendly, helpful staff. The lovely hotel and grounds. The decent size of the room.
