The view from the upper floors was amazing. You could see the snow-covered city down below and the shinkansen go back and forth.
From the booking process (getting us a room with a view) to the checkout process (getting us a taxi to the station), the staff was courteous, very accommodating, and even gave our toddler a goodie bag.
I wasn't expecting the open-air onsen, so that was a nice bonus, especially during our winter stay.
We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay for a few nights. We were greeted by the friendliest of staff. We were able to leave our luggage as we arrived quite early. The room was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. Thank you GBSH, we will be back!

Everything are the best in your way. I cannot give the hotel 10/10 because the Chinese name of the hotel is a bit hard to find a map on-line.

Unfortunately I was thinking of another hotel when I did my initial review so I badly underscored this hotel. My apologies to Hotel GrandBach - it is an outstanding hotel worthy of a 10 and not the 7 I gave it. Beautiful hotel, modern, clean, wonderful atmosphere, great facilities, amazing onsen, live music, free snacks and beverages in the lounge, friendly and helpful staff, easy location - I can’t commend it more.

The city center is modern and more has shopping.
Outside the city there are important historical sites.

Sendai is known as the City of Trees - and for good reason.
Sendai is known as the City of Trees - and for good reason. There's an insane amount of massively large and tall cedar trees everywhere! It's a very easily walkable city and if you need to go to parts beyond there's great transport links, either via the metro, overland train (JR), trams, or even the Sendai City Loople Bus - which takes you around to about a half dozen major attractions - think hop on / hop off.
Must see spots in Sendai are Rinnouji Temple, Zuihoden Mausoleum, Sendai Castle (Aoba Castle), and a little further out of the city (about an hour by train) is Yamadera Temple - not to be missed!
The city is centred around the massive train station in the centre of town and it does not disappoint. There's floors of shopping, restaurants, groceries, fancy food vendors, anything you could want. If you can't find anything in the labyrinthian corridors of the station, venture outside to the over 2500 restaurants and bars. I challenge you to not find something - anything - to satiate yourself with.

I absolutely adored Sendai and will visit again!
I absolutely adored Sendai and will visit again! The only problem that we had was the heat and humidity during the middle of September limited what we could do, but we made the most of our time at the Sendai train station-shopping!, the trees in the area were beautiful (I can see why they call it city of trees), we road the buses quite a bit (air conditioning) so we got to see quite a bit of the city, and made the most of the mall that was near the train station. Felt VERY SAFE there, the only con that I could say would be that unlike Tokyo, there were not to many people who spoke English but we expected that because our daughter works there, however she did most of the translating and figuring out the yen to buy things was actually quite easy, except for the coins. Navigating the trains was pretty easy, the people there knew some english and were quite helpful. It was a wonderful place to do it, very pretty and we will go again next year.

Tanebata is very nice to visit.
Tanebata is very nice to visit.
Castle was in our opinion not very interesting, Zui hoden is really worth a visit.
Beef tongue is a delicious dish!
Sendai is very good to visit Mashushima bay, and that is really a wonderful place to go
The hotel is centrally located in Sendai only a few hundred meters from the central train station, and a few blocked from the major shopping areas. We were able to find very good restaurant choices within easy walking distance. The hotel provides a coffee / hot chocolate machine, but it is only available between 2-7pm. All needed amenities are provided and the room was very comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and held our baggage for a few hours both prior to check-in and following check-out.
Great hotel and will 100% be coming back if we’re ever in Sendai again! I’m still super surprised how cheap it was given the location was amazing with plenty of shops and restaurants right outside! Check in was super fun and the holograms have multiple languages available! We also arrived a few hours before check in and staff were able to hold our bags until check in time! Rooms were clean, a good size and comfortable!
Amazing hotel located in the middle of a huge, bustling shopping street. The location made exploring Sendai extremely convenient! Rooms were exactly as pictured, and also extremely clean. Arriving in Sendai a few hours earlier than check-in, the complimentary lockers were a lifesaver. Would absolutely stay at again if traveling to Sendai and would recommend to any travelers who aim to do so as well.
The hotel is great value for money - it's pretty much standard Japanese business hotel. I'm pleased the rooms are cleaned each day, and the shower in the bathroom is pretty strong. It's very close to the east exit of Sendai station. The 'Welcome coffee' is a nice bonus. The staff were nice and kindly provided me with an extra pillow on request.
Good location, the hotel is between Sendai and Aobadori Station. Aobadori station is near the long shopping alley and Aeon. Sendai station offers a variety of stuff. There a lot of convenience stores nearby as well. Family mart, 7 eleven and Lawson.
Bath was good as well. Large enough bath tub. Bathroom amenities are all provided.
Perfect selection in Sendai! near the central train station and the center. Everything is all around.
Very nice hotel, as the dormy inn chain, you have Ramen from 21:30 to 23:00, ice-creams, washing machines, beautiful Onsen, and all the necessities you need.
Very racommended!
The hotel is in the center of Sendai, a few minutes walking to the station and general shopping area. The hotel has a spa-bathing area available. There is a parking lot available for 1240yen per night (it's an elevator-style parking, so it's not fast).
Very good location, comfortable bed and large onsen in the hotel. The breakfast is large and very delicious. I stayed for a week and never got bored of the onsen and the breakfast. The hotel is super close to Sendai station subway.
A beautiful hot spring spa hotel nestled in the mountains outside of Sendai. A Lovely staff, amazing food, and a well appointed hotel. The main Onsen was lovely, and the the food and beverages were of the highest quality.
- best hotel in Sendai (or even in Japan at the same level)
- in the train station
- staffs are nice
- room is clean, wonderful shower room
- has lounge and fitness
- has air purifier with humidifier
The hotel is conveniently located next to Sendai train station and the price is cheaper than other similarly located hotels nearby. Security is excellent and better then higher grade hotels.
Super spacious hotel rooms, especially for Japanese standards, comfortable bed, nice staff and close to Sendai station. It's not a big building which gives it more of a personal feeling.
It is so close to JR Sendai Station and Metro as you compare with the road guideline through Google Map. A Market nearby the hotel make you have a choice for a breakfast right here.
Close to Sendai JR Station, amazing public hot tub, amazing breakfast (for an additional fee), comfortable and clean hotel. It has a modern vibe to the place. We loved it!
Super comfortable and spacious for a japanese business hotel. Near to the station and a great base for Sendai. Near to all the good eats and great places to shop.
