Amazing city centre, beautiful architecture and neighbourhoods, feels safe, great day trips and longer excursions opportunities. Amazon forest trip is great for 3-4 days, not longer than that. The theatre at the city centre is brilliant. The bars around the neighbourhood are very nice. The city is full of energy. Easy to get Uber and bus. Various options for food.

Manaus is an amazing city with lots of sights to see.
The people are really friendly and even though some of them cannot speak English they will always help you.
It is good to speak some Portuguese though.
Don't listen so much to what other people might say about brazil. Use your brain and have fun.

main place to visit the essence of Amazon forest and Predient Falls
1. Deep Amazon forest tour organised by Iguana tours was great
2. ALL Day Tour (ADT) organised by Iguana tours was a great fun and perfect day out givign experience to everything - sloth, anaconda, local tribals, Monkeys, Macaw....plus superb choice of lunch suitable for vegeterians.
3. 2 day tour for Predient falls -- was so full of live experiences that it is strongly recommended (again organised by Iguana Tours). The local hostel was just amazing for the 1 nite stay.
4. Choice of restaurants that are vegeterian friendly was rather poor

Manaus, the city itself has a few nice things but really it is the gateway to what is around for a tourist. Very friendly and helpful people, we didn't speak any Portuguese but people always tried to help us. Very easy to do many different activities around Manaus. The staff at Museu da Amazonia (MUSA)are great and full of knowledge, if you like that sort of thing which I do. It is incredible to have a city of 2 million people in the heart of the rainforest and the rainforest comes right up to the edge of the city. Find a guide who can speak English, if you need that, and you will have a great time.

It would take more than this page to describe the Amazon.
It would take more than this page to describe the Amazon. Don’t take the expensive scheduled tours but just walk or taxi down to the wharf and rent your own private boat, - a boat for 2 to 20 passengers. You can negotiate the price a bit. A 4 hr. or so tour by the captain was just about right. He knew all the best spots for interest and fun!

I was ignorent to think that one week is enough for this city 😅 There are many things to do and many places to go. Not only the nature is amazing but also there are many historic places and nice art galeries.
The staff here were outstanding, they could not have been more helpful with anything we needed help with. Working with us and Google translate. They also specially cleaned and gave us our room early as we had arrived on the early boat from Tabatinga at 5am that morning. The room was also perfectly decent for the price we paid as we are trying to stick to a budget. It is also close to the port and the centre of the city if you are arriving in Manaus that way. It also has Aircon which is a must in Manaus
As an European, going to Manaus, the heart of Amazonas state of Brazil, was sort of fulfilling a life time's dream. Therefore I have to admit that details such as "how good was the breakfast?" are absolutely insignificant... (the breakfast was OK, by the way).
I would have gladly used the pool on the roof of the hotel (which is perhaps its main asset because from the height you can have a wonderful panorama of the city) but on the day when I had the availability to do it, a small storm broke out.
Amazing breakfast with so many options to choose from - one of the best I have ever had! Same is valid for the traditional afternoon tea - simply delicious and very popular with the locals! The location is also great very close to Teatro Amazonas and other attractions in the city center incl. the port area that can be easily reached on foot. Staff was always friendly and tried to help and solve the issues.
The hotel is across the street from two excellent restaurants, 150m from a Carrefour and 300m from Manaus's best mall. The renovated rooms on the first floor that face the pool are classified as "deluxe" (which they are not), but the mattresses and showers are adequate, the A/C works and the rooms are close to the pool. The free Wi-Fi worked well.
Very nicely decorated hotel, with beautiful terrace view of the theatre. In the perfect location for exploring Manaus. We had a lovely stay - staff were welcoming even though we arrived well after midnight. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious and they were even kind enough to share a recipe with me that I requested.
This hotel is really functional for you stance in Manaos. Everything’s work fine, the breakfast is really good and the Internet works perfectly if you’re working remotely.
The ubication is perfect because you’re near to the Teatro Amazonas, the center, the main market and the port to get touristic activities.
Quick, kind, staffed check in for our late night arrival (~1am). Beautiful hotel ~8mins away from the airport. Good sized room with a good breakfast spread. Great for a one night stay as its close to the hotel however its not close to the sights of Manaus. Check-in with lots of airline employees.
We only spent 6 hours at the hotel preparing for a flight. The manager was very friendly and helpful. There were steep steps to our room but the manager's brother carried our luggage. The room was clean and there was a dining room to eat our take-out meal. Good value for the price.
The place is a little old, it used to be one of the best places in Manaus.
The location is excellent, two block from Teatro Amazonas and other historic buildings
The place could use some renovation but it won’t disappoint you for the price they’re charging
Staff was great!
Charming colonial house converted to boutique hotel, with beautiful decor (particularly in the common areas). We arrived at 6am and they let us check in as soon as the room was ready after having some delicious breakfast.
An very centrally located and clean hotel. Our room was ready on arrival and we managed to get an early check in.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was plentiful and of good choice.
location is very nice. Exactly opposite the opera house. Everything looks very new. Nice pool on top of the hotel. We were upgraded to a suite which was a beautiful room
