Arrival late due to unforeseen circumstances, but the owner still be there to waiting for us until late night in the winter! Super friendly owner and very beautiful and new cottage! The most important - We saw northern light just from the cottage! Everything is excellent! Thank you ❤

What a great and cozy place to stay! We just loved everything about it! The location: easy to reach by rental car from Ivalo, yet totally surrounded by forest with a stunning lake view through large panoramic windows facing West. The interior: the welcoming atmosphere with christmas/winter decoration, very comfortable beds, the sauna and rain showers, the fully and stylishly equipped kitchen, the exterior with snow shoes and fat bikes for free use, and last but definitely not least: the very helpful and prompt communication with Jarkko & Hannika. We spent nearly a week in freezing winter wonderland with Northern Lights and the most beautiful weather. What a great start of 2024! This place is definitely a 11/10.

We had an exceptional week in Norlight Cottages Ivalo. The hosts were great and did everything they could to make our stay as easy, pleasant and convenient as possible. The cottage is brand-new, extremely comfortable and well-equipped, with everything needed (and more!) to enjoy a great, relaxing stay. Special mention to the two saunas (indoor and outdoor) and to the hot tube with an amazing view on the lake! The location and surroundings are also exceptional, in the heart of a peaceful nature. We also took advantage of some other rental services from the cottage (the car and the snowmobile) and, once again, everything was made to make it as easy and pleasant as possible by the hosts. Without any hesitation, I'd warmly recommend Norlight Cottages to anyone who wants to make the most of a holiday in Finnish Lapland!

A superb house near Ivalo - we had a fantastic stay! The house is only a 10 minute drive from the airport (€20 by taxi) and a 10 minute drive from Ivalo where there is a large supermarket and other basic facilities. For a wider selection of restaurants and activities, Saariselkä is only a 20 min drive and hence the house is perfectly situated for everything you need, whilst also being super secluded and quiet. We visited in the winter (Dec/Jan) and it was magical in the snow, with the frozen lake making for a beautiful backdrop! When booking I was hesitant with the airport nearby, but with there only being only a few flights a day and it being far enough away, it really didn't cause any disturbance at all - if anything, it was a more of convenience to be nearby. The facilities in the house were great, with everything you'd need for a short and long stay. There was also a fire and sauna which we didn't use, but all was easy to set up if you so wished. The owner was very responsive and replied quickly whenever we had any questions. We were provided with lots of YouTube videos for how to operate everything - very useful! We were also super lucky during our stay, with the Aurora Borealis flowing straight over the house one evening! The frozen lake and open views made for an exceptional viewing of the lights, if you get lucky. We felt like we had our own private display! A once in a lifetime experience which was enhanced by the location of the house and its situation on the lake. Don't hesitate to book, we had a trip of a lifetime here!
