Location in village close to the iconic mountain, with cafe and shop nearby. Very nice receptionist on site nonstop. Good breakfast
When we arrived, the door of the appartment was unlocked and the keys were inside. The house was very clean and quite luxurious. As two friends, one slept on the bed and the other on the sleep couch. Both slept great, good matrasses and when waking up, a solid beautiful view over the bay.
Comfortable and spacious room. This is a great location to stay particularly if the Northern Lights are showing as it is only a few minutes drive and you are out of the village.
Dramatic cliffs rising from the village, lovely cafe next door and the Inn itself is very relaxed. Lovely breakfast, lots of choice with ham, salami, cheese, bread, loads of jams and honey, cake, yoghurt, cereal and fresh fruit. The blue sky and winter sunshine over the fjord with snowy mountains in every direction is stunning.
We loved the atmosphere, it was cozy but chic. The smallest details like the handmade cups and organic icelandic soaps made it feel luxurious but homey. The staff were absolutely amazing, they went out of their way to make our stay so special and memorable. Krzysztof the night guard was super helpful and nice as well as the woman (sadly didn’t get her name) who served breakfast and was a great host during the day. It was so cozy and nice that we loved hanging out in the bar area with a cup of tea and playing scrabble.
I like the concept of integrating a community with travellers from around the world. Here I was able to get a glimpse of what genuine Iceland is like in remote fishing villages. There was several cinema nights in the theatre where all the locals would come to watch films developed by local film makers. First night was about the local football team and the second a fishing film about a man and his boat. Both films highlighted the importance of having a connection with your community and it was a great experience to watch these local films.
Cosy retreat in a wild and remote location (especially lovely feeling with the wind whistling outside), yet accessible on our route (driving through spectacular scenery) to rejoin the ring road after a detour north. Small and simple kitchen facilities, but plenty for cooking dinner and breakfast. Cabin has everything you need, lovely and warm and peaceful in a dramatic landscape. Good wifi, easily fast enough to watch films. Good communication too from host Soffia, thank you.
Dragsnes was quite an interesting village and different from a lot of other places in Iceland we explored.
The bed was luxuriously comfortable, the shower was amazing and the kitchen was well equipped. And the room was well heat and noise insulated. Unfortunately the weather was bad that day so we weren't able to make the most of the location. The room also included a voucher for 2 drinks at the Valeria coffee house which is just down the road. The coffee house is exceptional as well and worth a visit. They get coffee direct from the farmer in Columbia and roast it themselves, best coffee I've ever had.
The hotel rooms are like mini villas, very spacious and comfy. It's owned by a family who are very lovely
