Were able to arrange dinner for us on short notice when we arrived. Great breakfast served at our own villa, with fresh fruits, eggs and tea. Wonderful location close to both fields and jungle, and the villa was beautiful. Fantastic to have a private pool! They can arrange for tuktuks since the hotel is some ways away from the beach and town. Remember that the property is close to the jungle, so gekkos can run arround inside of the villa, and iguanas and peacocks can jump on the metal roof in the evening and night, so this is a prefect stay if you want to experience the sounds of the jungle. According to the staff you can get a chance to see monkeys in the trees in the mornings.

The villa is stunningly beautiful on a quiet end of the beach but still a very easy walk to bars and restaurants. The pool is the perfect temperate and we used it a lot. It’s accessible off the main road but it’s set back so you don’t hear it, we never noticed it. The decor of the villa is beautiful and tasteful, the rooms are comfortable and the AC and fan above the bed work really well. The bathroom is huge and I loved the open shower. We had the room on the ground floor leading out to the pool which was lovely and light. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Villa many times and never had a bad meal. Everything was delicious, fresh and well presented. On the last night we requested a seafood platter and it was the tastiest lobster and king prawns we have ever eaten! The chef is amazing and we loved every meal. They are all accommodating and happy to make the meals at a time to suit you which was great. The staff are amazing, friendly and warm and constantly cleaning the place, it was spotless. Sunil (the manager) is fantastic, we have travelled a lot and stayed at some high-end resorts but Sunil’s skills and touch in customer service is exemplary and it’s clear his team flourishes under his management. Sunil even recommended a restaurant in Colombo and made us a reservation as well as organising a great guide and driver. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back to Villa Saffron, we’re already planning a trip back with friends and family. It’s a slice of heaven!

Very nice and unique small hotel, quiet and comfortable place for family vacation, excellent and hospitable staff, they can organize absolutely everything by your request! The hotel has own small beach that is very conveniently after overcrowded Unawatuna.

The rooms were comfortable and clean that we extended our stay for another night. We also had the villa all to ourselves!
