Loved our experiences at Fare Vahine Oviri - from the awesome welcome from Johnny and family, the 4 hour tour of the island with Johnny (the pilgrimage to Taputapuatea being the absolute highlight), snorkeling in the lagoon and even a meal with the family. The Fare is comfortable and well provisioned for self-catering. This delightful place is one of the best kept secrets in the whole Pacific.

La maison du voyage is just 2 minutes’ drive from Tevaitoa Village and 10 minutes’ drive from Raiatea Airport. Temaruao public Beach is just 5 minutes' walk and the closest restaurant is 3 minutes’ drive away. We loved everything about our experience and stay with Isabella and Edward. They are wonderful hosts and their property is clean and in a fabulous location. You will need a car to travel to them. You should hire a car anyway to see the entire island, its gorgeous. We enjoyed conversing with the other guests during our stay and the breakfast of bread and fresh fruit was delightful. We highly recommend staying at La Maison Du Voyage and look forward to going back!

Awesome breakfast, with this view. Very attentative Host, Karine provides very good recommendations for lunch and dinner. All in all a very good athmosphere. Beautiful horses (from the neighbours) take care of the lawn mowing.

Private and very close to town and superette. Jean is an extremely kind and helpful host. His english is perfect, nothing was too hard. The house catered very very well for my family of 8 (including a baby). Plenty of space, huge lounge, kitchen and bedrooms. Spent every day in the water swimming and snorkeling. I would strongly recommend you stay at Hokulea. Thank you Jean

The area is popular for hiking and walking tours, and free use of bicycles is available at the villa. Snorkelling and canoeing can be enjoyed nearby, while a car rental service and a private beach area are also available on-site. Incredible property, easy and private ocean access. Long private beach with large shallow pool in front for swimming. Snorkeling just beyond that. Kayaks provided for paddle to public atol (motu) nearby. Lots of Snorkeling around the motu as well. Owner met us at airport with rental car. Owner gave a book full of local tourism information, restaurant recommendations, etc. She spent an hour with us getting us settled in and oriented. The home is perfectly maintained and spotless clean. Fresh flowers everywhere. Well appointed kitchen, super bathroom with big walk-in shower. Very comfortable bed. A/C works great. This is a great find.
