The ryokan features a flat-screen TV. Featuring free private parking, this 2-star ryokan also features free WiFi.

Guests at the ryokan will be able to enjoy activities in and around Takashima, like fishing.

The place is a little bit odd yes, but it’s a wonderful example of a traditional Japanese hospitality (even if the building doesn’t look traditional… but 70s) the hot bath was one of the best I ever had in Japan and the food was incredible. And I paid only 8250 yen for a half course stay (1 person). And the owner did his best to explain everything (with a digital language translator).

Everything about our stay is perfect. This Ryokan is full of character. Great hospitality from the owner - they are very friendly and made sure our stay was comfortable and provided good dinner recommendations. Having an onsen in the ryokan is a huge bonus - this is probably the highlight of our stay. Authentic Japanese breakfast served. The location is near the train station making sites around Lake Biwa accessible. We're so glad we stayed here.

I met the owner, Iki, who was very friendly and accommodating. Her house is lovely with all the facilities that we need. It has parking spot that can fit 2 MPVs. The house has good heater system (we went in winter), washer, tatami & beds, kitchen for us to cook with basic appliances. The location is about 10-15mins away from the Hakodateyama Gondola (our main target was Mt Hakodateyama to play snow). The house was easy to find as per the google map's direction.

Wonderful experience in a traditional house in a deep mountain of Japan. The dinner and breakfast were exceptional, prepared and presented with care and love. We rented a car to get here and visited nearby small towns for shopping. The onsen nearby has good facilities, and the quality of the water was excellent. Strongly recommend if you wish to experience a traditional Japanese living and hospitality.

I had a very relaxing and quiet time in an authentic Japanese house in the countryside. After returning from Biwaichi Cycling, we took a nap on the tatami mats and enjoyed BBQ in the garden for dinner. At night it was a pleasure to see fireflies in the brook just nearby. It looks like it can accommodate a few more people. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends.

Located in a quiet (area which was a bit difficult to find as Google Maps turned us around a bit). Three bedrooms (2 up, one down) with a variety of sleeping platforms from beds to tatami mats. No issues parking in front of the house. It was nice having a washer for clothes (but there was no dryer). Quick response to messages via the Booking app from management.
